Hey,

I had surgery about 4~5 years ago on my leg which left a pretty big scar (maybe 3" x 1").

Does anyone know of any ways to get rid of this, or minimize the appearance? Perhaps a cream that has worked for you, or something. Thanks.

You cannot remove a scar without plastic surgery which leaves another smaller scar in its place. There are treatments you can buy that soften the scar...these are good for raised scars as well. You can find them in the pharmeceutical section of grocery and some department stores. They are usually thin strips that you place over the scar that if used properly will help diminish the appearance. They are pretty easy to find and there are various brands using the same active ingredient

Sun helps a lot, but if you use a laser pointer on it every day, it will eventually decrease the scar tissue and thin the scar.

I would think that massage would help, too. Anything to get the blood flowing to that spot.

Stri- Vectin (available at GNC) works on stretch marks. Have you tried mederma? It is made specifically for scar removal.
