I'm trying to better understand why people give Satan such little credit. First off, he get blamed for all the bad things that go on in the world. Such as cancer, accidental deaths, etc... but if he were the one doing this then he'd only be shooting himself in the foot. Disasters tend to make people flock towards religion as a solution, so I'd say that Satan creates as little to no havok in the world as he can.
Secondly,He also gets blamed for demonic possessions. Again, this only makes people believe there's a God and become terrified of the Devil. Only if he's an idiot would he do this.
Satan could only get what he wants by making this world a better place. If he really wanted everyones souls, he'd make this place so great that people would become so compacent that there wouldn't need to believe in a God.
or maybe,
he just sends his only begotten son to the earth and tells everyone that the only way to get to God is through him. Hmmm interesting thought.(scratches chin)

lol...you've nailed him. that is exactly what satan is doing...making the world a better place for people who don't care about God or who are easily led astray.
satan works best with complacency...not confrontation...
for many people this world IS great and there is no need to be anywhere else...

Satan is stupid for thinking he can defeat God, but still pretty smart. If you notice in Gen. 3:1, the serpent (Satan) was called "the most clever beast God ever created". However, Satan is not the cause of ALL the bad things that goes on in the world- besides, he can't do anything without asking God first! So by God allowing him to do these things, he is setting the Devil up for more people to come to Christ.

satan is pure evil and cannot do anything good. It is not in his nature. Just as God is pure holiness, satan is the opposite. I was into satanism and was possessed. It was the worst experience of my life. The only way to get free from satan is to come to Jesus. No one else has the authority to cast out demons and heal people. satan knows how to lie and deceive people, he has had 6,000 years and more to practice. The Bible says that he has come to kill, steal and destory. These are his only characterics and he cannot do good. This was a very interesting question.

Satan is not the bringer of evil and death, in fact, the name mean 'adversary' and was applied to king David in the bible. G-d even admit to being the root of all evil in
2 Kings 6:33
Behold, this evil is of the Lord.
Isaiah 45:7
I ... create evil.
Amos 3:6
Shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
(all King James Version)
And in Job, he is shown close to God.

Then explain that to the drunks and drug users that do not go to God because they have way too much fun staying in it. What about the people that have sex with whoever they want or before marriage and don't go to "religion" because it would mean they'd have to stop. Or about those who kill others, serial killers and the like who thrill at it and keep doing it. And there are many, many people who get sick or whatever, that get mad at God, not run to Him. And those who deal in witchcraft because they believe they have the powers. And those who are involved in pornography who are addicted to it and won't let go of it. It that enough for you?

Satan is in complete opposition to God and His will. He deceives people into thinking that he and God do not exist. Satan welcomes as many people as possible into hell as soon as possible - because that is not God's will: ' ... have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked? says the Lord, and not rather that he should turn from his evil way and return [to his God] and live? [Ezekiel 18:23].

When theirs an argument - or talk of killing a person - the devil comes in a different appearance normally like a old man and gives his say , standing in the back - and it rests the humans mind and they go with his idea

Satan is a lot smarter than us! For a good description of him read Ezekiel Ch.28 from about verse 11 onwards.

No, actually satan is very smart. He is pretty good at making a lot of people think that God is the cause of all our suffering and misery.
