Tin can sailor, have to admit I have never had Abolone. I am being naive here as I have never come across this. Obviously it's seafood but what's it like?

Not really fond of of most fish. Salmon is great as is catfish.
For openers I love Sushi. Lomi Lomi Salmon is great. Those are for starters.
Shellfish is my favorite. Abalone, Crab, Mussels, Clams, Lobster and Shrimp.
Every once in a while, when I can come with a hundred dollars or so, I will buy all of them and make cioppino and have the family over. What a great meal.

Garlic mussels
Monkfish
Tiger prawns
Scrambled egg and smoked salmon
Lobster salad with pink champagne on Christmas Eve.
If you live in UK and ever go to Scotland try Loch Fyne Oyster Bar, very yummy fresh seafood. Enjoy your evening, we are on confit duck tonight. x

absolutely love it but not the fishy smell if you are open cooking it. A simple though expensive dish is
8oz loin of salmon - cut into cubes
12 large grey uncooked shelled prawns (thread vein removed)
12 scallops
half a teaspoon freshly grated ginger
half a teaspoon freshly grated garlic
a handfull of chopped fresh herbs
1oz butter
large glass of sauvignon blanc
turn your oven on to 180deg,c
rub the inside of a small deep dish with the butter, garlic and ginger, add the fish, scatter the herbs over the top and pour the wine over. pop into the oven for 20 mins.
result - mouthwatering and a bonus - no smells!
Enjoy! with the rest of the bottle of wine.

I love that you pig out on seafood once a month. What a great tradition!!
My favorite seafood? hmm.... I love almost all kinds, but since I haven't eaten them in quite while, I'd say steamed oysters in broth, oysters on the half shell, tuna sushi, lobster, um um. I could go on and on :P
