It means attaining the goal. All perfection is relative to who is judging and what is to be judged. What is perfect for one set of parameters may be imperfect for another.
In religion, the perfection of God is not attainable by humans. We are just not able to accomplish that goal. Fortunately, God does not maintain such standards for us but has goals we can reach.

It means to be like Jesus. This doesn't mean "having never sinned" for all we, like sheep, have gone astray. It also doesn't mean that we can keep on sinning and just depend upon Jesus to cover all our sins. Thus, it means surrendering your life to Jesus so that He can work out His Perfection in us. He is able to keep us from falling to sin. But He can't do that as long as we are getting in the way.

Obviously you could suggest alternative words that mean the same thing- like flawless, infallible etc. but i don't think you mean it in that sense. Do you?
On a grand level, i think the only answer we can suggest is God or Jesus. But even this is 'contentionable' seen as there are so many natural disasters which we can only attribute to God etc. That is a toughy, good question.

Since this is the "Religion and Spirituality" section...perfection in the Bible most times means "Complete".

All I can think of at the present time is the oath of "Perfect love and perfect trust"
This means that with absolute, non-flawless love and absolute, non-flawless trust.

To me, "perfection" is unattainable.
Instead, I refer to "perfekshun," note the IMPERFECT spelling.
To me, "perfection" is nonexistent.
But, "perfekshun" is the *acceptance* that you cannot be perfect, and rather something is perfect for *you.*
It's like... not being the best, but being *your* best.

Something kind of like utopia... a pipe dream that is unrealistic. I don't know that true perfection exists.
