Just do what other people are doing. Do you think everyone else took lessons or something? Hardly anyone really knows "how" to dance. By the end of the night, people are mostly just bobbing up and down anyway. Slow dancing is just giving someone a long hug and moving around in a circle. If you act like you can dance, then viola: You Can Dance!

I was nervous at my first dance too, i sat on the bleachers the whole time, and then my best friend dragged me out on the dance floor, and everything was great!

dont dance to fast songs, unless you practice by yourself in your room first, watch usher seriously awsome dance although a guy can just sway and really its better than most, the slow songs are easy as heck so dont worry about those just move your feet side to side and your cool, dont step on her toes though.

Be honest with your date and tell her. Maybe she will offer to show you some easy steps to do and if she does, go for it. Forget what anyone may think. Just act like they aren't there and just enjoy yourself with her. If she doesn't offer to teach you, then maybe she will just hang out with you and you two can just socialize and have a good time.

Just try to sort of do what she does. She probably won't care that you can't dance. Just try to relax and have fun.

just have fun, and tell whoever you're going with that you cant dance, and that person will try and help you get into the mood
