I swear he's masturbating! I 'caught' him a few times. I know I'm a guy and should know this but does anyone have similar experiences?

I started when I was 8 in the privacy of my own room. There is nothing wrong with it. Why are people so hung up on masterbating? It is his body to explore, AS long as YOU don't explore with him. Leave him ALONE.

He may simply be trying to hold back needing to go pee is despirate...
it helps hold back when you need to pee.
or may have started early... females have been known to start periods as early as 9 so would make sense for guys too masturbate... I would look into it and find out where he is learning about it and how hmuch he knows
Have a guy drop masturbating subtyly into a conversation mentioning most guys do it, often with pictures of naked girls they would like to be with or videos, its normal, done usually in private or with a girlfriend which he wont be grown up enough to be with for another 6 years

He's too young to understand what it means, or that it's sexual at all - but not too young to masturbate. Even babies play with themselves, knowing only that it feels good.
Leave him alone. As long as he does it in private, let it be his business. It's part of developing a healthy sexuality.

As long as he does it in private, I dont see a problem. He is just learning about his body. Depending on his relationship with his parents sooner or later he will approach them about it because he doesnt know any better.

Masturbation is completely normal and NOT wrong. Tell him that what he's doing is normal but private.

He is curious about his body and is exploring. He realized that touching himself feels good so he does it. It is normal development. Now is the time to talk to him about his body and privacy.

at this age they start to know it there and he just doing what any other kids age talk to him and ask him if he know what he doing and why and dont stop him it just part of life

hahaha no thats not to young. its normal. my bf started that age. hes a kid, so hes curious. and its healthy. nothing wrong with it.

i have not with my own kids but i know my brother did go through that, i don't ever know what started it but just talk to him about it.

oh ya definatly!!! he is just discovering his body.. alot of kids do this when they realize that doing this brings them pleasure.. its completly normal
