Depends on the guy. Seems to be enough needly-lovers and hard-to-get-lovers for all the women out there.

It depends on what for. Most of the time needy is extremely irritating. Of those two choices distant and aloof is far better.

Neither......there has to be a balance.

The needy types are clingy and scary. The movie "Fatal Attraction" comes to mind when I think of needy women.

The distant and aloof one is not appealing either because they seem to be into their ownselves and can easily fall for someone else if pushed.

Balance is the key young Jedi warrior.

NEEDY NEEDY NEEDY, but stay the heck away and leave me alone!

But seriously the question is too ambiguous, it depends on what the guy is looking for, a one time quick score or meaningful long-term forever and ever relationship. If its the first then its obviously not needy and if its the latter then needy as in you both depend on one another for support.

Kay.. I'm a girl so I wouldn't exactly know, but out of the two choices distant and aloof.
I know this by watching my mother and her love life. She and my dad broke up in April/07 and she's dating this guy. My mom has become much more independant now, and she tells me "Never rely on a man, learn to be independant" And her boyfriend completely respects her for it, infact my mother's broken up a few times and he keeps asking her out again. But now they've been good for over a month so it's good..
My mom's boyfriend tells me his last relationship didn't work because the other woman couldn't do anything on her own and always needed someone to hold her hand, he said he couldn't deal with it.
I hope this helps!

I think most men would say somewhere in between needy and distant. We want a women who needs us around but we also like to have a women who isn't clingy more independent.

If you're asking that question with the intent of "changing" your personality in order to get or keep a man, then the question is moot because you are, by definition, "needy."

Somewhere in between. My guy likes that I don't really call him, but we do usually talk every day, because he calls me. REAL guys like being MEN in the relationship and like the pursuit of the woman, so let him chase you.

Guys don't like girls that are clingy, but don't play so hard to get that they give up.

In the middle. You want a woman who can use your support, but you don't want one who needs you for every little thing, although I have no problem with helping out with the little things...
