I live in a bottom floor apartment and the neighbors upstairs sound like they are running a zoo out of their house! All I hear is stomping, running, people dropping heavy things, and everyday, they put their stupid dog on their balcony where he just sits and barks and barks and barks and barks!
I have to deal with this on a day to day basis. I have contacted the manager and even told him in person, and he said there is nothing he can do about it. I've called the police, but all that is, is a slap on the wrist! The cops come over and say stop, but yet it continues EVERYDAY!
And what pisses me off is that as soon as I turn my music up so I can freggin' hear it over their stomping, they call the cops on me!
I want to move right now but I'm only two months into my lease, and it would cost a fortune to get out of it. What should I do? I'm at my wit's end!!!!!!!!!

Well, you probably should have talked to them in the first place instead of talking to the manager. People respect you more when you talk to them face to face. But since you went to the manager and the police, I suspect now they are doing it on purpose. Those are the breaks when you live below someone. Turning your music up is just counterproductive.
Try making peace with your neighbors, apologize for not talking to them first and then maybe you can work something out.

Not sure where you live, but where I live, there are specific ordinances around barking dogs and the police will fine you if you do not control barking after being warned. Additionally, if the police have to respond to a rental property for disturbances, they will fine the property owner (not renter) if they do not find a way to control the issue with the tenants. If continuing to call the police still doesn't work, suck it up. There are only 2 months left. Then take your lesson learned and rent the top floor from now on, or buy your own place. Good luck!

Video tape the stomping in your house and let the Manager or person in charge listen to it. Write a letter to the Manager and send it in the mail. Tell him that you can't sleep or eat and you don't want have to move out and you can't break the lease at this time. But theses people need to be asked to move.

Buy a few Ear plugs, they would honestly paintings! incidentally I'm deaf, so sure I'm blessed! :p I can honestly sleep at night time like a child if I bought coach monitor external of the condo! Might wish to check out Police and they're going to ask them to curb their drum/song... at distinct time, chiefly for the duration of week day (Work). Don't pass over the following door on my own, cuz you don't have any concept what they are ready of!!!

i dont want to tell you what to do because its your choice but i would not move because of someone else thats not right then your giving in on them so dont do that please. ok this is what you should do about it talk to them first nicely tell them what you want and be completey straight with them and try to reach an argeement. if this does not work call the cops. if this does not work then turn your music up lound and if the cops come on you you tell them completey why dont hold back at all telll them that music wont go down unless they do something about there noise but only do this. if this does not work then just keep calling the cops and tell them everytime soon they will get sick and do something about it.
i really hope this helps you with your neighbors from hell
good luck

it sure sucks living below someone, i live below my land lord and when they get loud hell ya im going up there.. that b/s.. you can do something about the dog.. call the local animal shelter and let them know of the anoyance.. they will contact your neighbors..
keep your music up.. let the cops come and tell them you cant stand their noise and would rather listen to the music.. you'll turn it down once they shut the h e l l up.. let them continue to call the cops.. after so long the state will charge them fees for calling cops for a non emergency.. they'll get the hint. :)

You can try reverse situation. Leave you car parked in the drive and take the bus, turn on the lights and music when you leave so they think your at home. When you return, turn off the lights and music, park your car around the corner they will think you have left.
They sound pretty stupid and vindictive so it might work.

Kevin is right. Ask to move ASAP. If there is no apartment available, you might have to make do for awhile. Take them a "howdy neighbor" thanksgiving card with a store bought pie. No matter what they say or how they react, hold your tongue. Remember that they are the trouble makers, not you.

If I was in your situation I would tell that person to there face. Make sure to tell them how you feel and that you only make noise so you can here over them. And if that doesn't work I don't know what to tell you.

A pair of ear defenders or a set wireless headphones so you can listen to your favourite music while you are moving about your apartment.
