I have a "recurring" dream.. i put it in quotes cuz it happens differently all the time.. The dream is always me in a like hostage situation.. Like someone has me at gunpoint and I'm with my entire family (a couple times it's been people IN my family being the shooter) and I'm trying to find ways out.. it always happens in my house or my grandparents house and i run around the house hiding in rooms and like scared to death.. In the end someone always dies or I get found or something.. but it's never a good ending to this dream.. Just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas bout this

The hostage situation mans that you're life is feeling held down, trapped and controlled by others, seemingly your family as they're the hostage takers sometimes.

I take it that you get a lot of pressure from your family to succeed even though you're in your 20s. is your family (grandparents included) hellbent on you becoming successful?... are you going to be one of the first to graduate college? what kind of pressure is your family putting on you

All this dream is telling you is that you need an escape from your daily life and the pressure put on you.

to resolve this dream find out what this pressure is and understand it..
You also need a change of routine... for the next few weekends do something different than normal.. if you go to the bars and drink... go to the beach or bowling and don't drink....
if you stay in and read, go out to a dive bar for a drink and meet people..

good luck

It's one of those frustration dreams...
( I still get them about trying to find a concert hall
at a college...and I am into my 30's)

you are doing all you can in life,
and still feel you aren't able to make
enough of a difference or "save everyone"
from trauma....
you plan good things, and they don't turn out....perfectly...

these are things we all face in our lives.
when bad things happen to good people,
or when something isn't fair...
we tend to have these dreams of frustration...
because we are constantly battling the unknown,
and cannot possibly be prepared for every twist
or turn our lives will take.

you wake up in a panic, or with that emotion
of breath caught in your throat...of terror...
and are shocked at the violence or horror you witness...

but in reality, you are safe, and you are okay.
you are doing well, and really can't do much more.

Leave it to our minds to create more drama
than even our lives have handed to us...winks.
perhaps mind is trying to find a way
to outwit the system, but everywhere and
every senario it comes up with is a "dead end"
(pun intended???)

our minds are constantly creating new and better
and differnt paths for us to test and try out...
trouble is, it is like a basic computer that has not
run enough senarios ( remember the movie War Games
with Matthew Broderick, the computer had to run
1,000 of tic-tac-toe games inorder to realize
that what created the a "no-win" situation....)

so in your dreams, your mid is trying to outwit
the dark forces, and cannot seem to "win" the game.

are you religious, do you have some faith?
perhaps by reminding yourself that there is
something larger out there, someone else in control,
you can have the police ride in justin the nick-of-time
or a superhero appear through a wall or something
to "rescue" you...then, and perhaps only then
will your mind rest this senario and let you get some
quiet peaceful sleep.

hug.

>> The hostage situation could mean that you fear being trapped by things/loss of control in your life. Or your actions are being controlled by others.
~ Your house in dreams can often represent the dreamer & your grandparents house could mean the issues are somehow connected to value systems passed down to you from them ~ maybe you are feeling trapped by their aspirations for you ~ Maybe your familys expectations for you differ from what you want for yourself in life?
Hiding in rooms could relate to privacy issues ~ maybe you feel you don't have enough privacy in your life away from your family.
Hope this helps. Ciao!

It sounds like you have latent frustration with your family. The reason it's always in your house or your grandparents is because those places feel somewhat like a prison. It sounds like you are a teenager, am I right? You are having family issues, whatever those may be and you feel some sense of betrayal in terms of those family members. You also feel strapped down living in those places and probably just feel like escaping. That's just my take on it.

maybe there's something you need to make decisions about because its dragging you back and getting i the way of yourself as well as others. or maybe (completely different idea) you haven't been in contact enough with your family and need to see them and talk to them properly.

You want to be kidnapped and take hostage so your subconcious is playing this scenario so that it doesn't happen in real life.

LOL
