"Tonight we shall hurl the gauntlet of Science into the _________"?
This question simply asked in a philosophical way "How can we include science in our R/S questions and answers".
This question did not violate Community Guidelines in any way. Most of the people who answered this found it interesting and thought provoking.
Science and religion and spirituality are important factor of this R/S site.
Please tell me how this question was offensive except to someone who disdains "science".
You will probably find that the person who reported this as a violation was using two level one accounts and is no longer active, they have simply signed up two more accounts in order to unfairly and maliciously report other people.
If I get no response from you, I will send a copy to Jerry Chang, and ask him to "review" your appeal procedures.
I enjoy Yahoo and I know several of your sponsors are happy with my previous questions.

Dear Midge - I don't always understand you , but I seem to be able to read your heart, and I love having you as a member. ---- and I would never report you for non-blatantly offensive things, cause that my dear is against my religion. I am a red-letter Christian, or at least I try to be. -- sorry for rambling

I don't know. But this is indeed a sign that things are hitting an all time low.
This question could have went either way...to oppose or support science. Sadly whoever reported you was too stupid to pick up on that.
Maybe I should just go for the day...for some reason I get particularly annoyed when I see your questions get violations.

I just had a violation notice for saying "You ask this periodically don't you?" and the fact was the person does indeed post the question once or twice a day. I've had one for saying "I don't understand your question"
I've had 4 violation notices for things that are nowhere in the guidelines and as far as I can tell Yahoo doesn't even look at appeals because I've never heard back from them once.
The points I don't care about. They could take them all for all I care they're meaningless and Yahoo should get rid of points stars and levels. But I just don't want the account deleted.

Send the appeal. But any time I have sent an appeal, I've got nothing back but a canned email saying they got it. Some people say they've gotten their appeals, though. Good luck to you.
Your question is innocent. It was probably some fundie troll who hates science who did it. You know how they are. This YA reporting system sucks.

Your question should not have been reported, we are here because we want answers and not always what is written in books or encyclopedias, we want what other peoples views are on a particular subject
Those who scroll this sight having more than one identity, should be stopped and I would send in your appeal Good luck

I have no idea how that relates to spiritual things, but ignoring that part of the question I'd say send it. I doubt you'll get a reply, and if you do get one I doubt it'll be on point, but I'd love to know what happens.

if that was your question, worded exactly like that - they might have gotten you on an off-topic violation. that question doesn't provide the nuance that you give in your second paragraph.
is it worth the hassle? maybe. but i don't think that they read any of the questions or answers, they just act on the reporting.
but it does sound like you might have a stalker...

You can certainly send it, but my experience is that the only response you get will be the auto-reply that says they got it. I've never gotten any other one.
