I have fine super-kinky hair, but man its war everyday. Have you got any ideas or tips I could use to funk it up a little bit? Something manageable for school and something fun for going out. I don't want to use too much product or heat styling. Plus I'd rather not braid all of it.

I have that hair type too! when i blow dry my hair (after washing it) i use one of the comb attachments and then use a flat iron with some type of thermal cream it dosen't make your hair super straight but it does make it managable... hope that helps!

Gosh! thats a tough one for me as I'm an Australian and have straight hair. I seem to remember some of the ladies in Fiji and Papua New Guinea had the same problem and from memory they made pig tails into their hair and it didn't look too bad either as it gave them that "little girl" look. I would suggest you just sit in front of the mirror and give it a try and see how it looks. I'm sorry if I'm not much help but good luck with it and let me know how it went.

braid/twist outs. do no longer comb it on an identical time as this is dry, in basic terms while this is moist with conditioner. deep remedies will help to make it greater pliable and agreeable while it includes styling. Flat twists, (bantu) knot outs...Braid the hair on an identical time as this is moist (after washing, practice leave in conditioner/moisturuzer), enable it air dry or take a seat under dryer, get to the backside of and finger comb. would desire to be greater doable. counting on how wild you sleep it might final for each week or so.

Get it cut in a funky, layered style. Embrace your kinkiness instead of trying to push it away.

For nights out, you could try straightening it. Bedhead manipulator works wonders.

USE TO BE A BEAUTICIAN IN THE 70'S AND I USE TO CUT CURLY HAIR TO ABOUT 1" LONG ALL OVER. ONE LADY HAD IT CUT DOWN TO 1/2". TIGHT CURL NATURAL.

YOU STATE LONG HAIR, PULL IT INTO A PONYTAIL AND WEAR IT BACK ONE DAY, TO THE LEFT SIDE ANOTHER DAY, TO THE RIGHT SIDE THE NEXT, ON TOP OF YOUR HEAD AND THEN ON TOP OF YOUR CROWN ARE 5 DAYS WORTH.

i got my hair angeled... so you don't have to get too much hair cut off. My hair is wavy so you can't really tell what i did. but it looks REALLY good if you straighten it or curl it...
