I already have an appointment w/ a dr. I've been taking Benadryl, Claritin, and using Calamine lotion (what a mess). I'm ready to jump out of my skin because I'm so itchy!

Ask your Doctor for a prescription of Prednisone that will take care of it immediately if the other stuff does not allievate it....It worked for me and my hives.

An ice pack to the itchiest part often helps.

Also please be sure you're using the Benadryl tablets. Benadryl is also sold as a cream but it's worthless in that form. Also be sure you're taking the proper dose of the Benadryl - for adults, can be as much as 25-50 mg every 6 hours (be careful of sedation).

You might also consider adding some Pepcid - originally developed to block histamine receptors in the stomach, thereby preventing acid secretion. It also turns out to block histamine receptors elsewhere as well - can help a bit with itching but best used in addition to the Benadryl and Claritin.

Finally, you might give some thought to whether or not you're allergic to something that you're still being exposed to. Any new soaps or shampoos or detergents or clothing? If you're allergic to any of these and you're still using the substance, you're going to continue to itch!

you know that one scene in My Big Fat Greek Wedding with the Windex?

It actually works!!!!!

But if that doesn't do it for you
Run your bath water as hot as you can stand it with a little bit of Instant oatmeal (like 8 oz. or so) then soak

Here's some other options too:

Go to walgreens or CVS and ask them for this stuff, i think its by aveeno, its like oatmeal but its meant for you to pour into your bathtub and you soak in it for like 20 minutes and your hives will decrease and won't itch as much!
