I have a marinade recipe that calls for 3 whole cloves. I don't have any but I do have ground cloves. Can I just sprinkle some ground cloves in? If so, any idea how much?

Yes. A small pinch of clove, less than 1/4 teaspoon, is equal to 3 cloves.

5 cloves = 1/4 teaspoon
10 cloves = 1/2 teaspoon

etc.

About a teaspoon full. It will be stronger in taste, you will have to kind of experiment with it. Whole cloves, I think, have a fresher taste but ground can be used carefully.

Sure... go easy... maybe just a two-finger pinch.
