Want to make a beef stew in my crockpot.Can I substitute any other cuts of beef instead of using Stewing Beef.Trying to save a little money.What about round,sirloin tip, or rump roast.

Yes, yes, and yes. You can use any cut, especially in the crock pot, with the long slow cooking, a tough cut will work. Buy what you like and cut it to the size you want, or just dump it in there, when it is done enough, a fork will take it apart in shreds or hunks. (I do it all the time.)

Just get any cut of beef (what stew meat is!) and cut it up into chunks yourself. Stew meat is just the bits and peices left over from a variety of cuts. Look for tougher cuts like round, sirloin, top round.... all will make a tasty stew meat.

Stew meat is just simple small cubes of lean meat, I usually use chuck roast.

The important principle here is using tough cuts of meat. You try stewing filet mignon, or prime rib, and you'll get oatmeal lol.

Use chuck , tough , fatty, and flavorful . Perfect for a slow cooker. Don't use lean cuts.
