My dad & step mom have gotten divorced (mom died along time ago). I do not stay with them but have been helping my dad out by picking up younger siblings from school taking them to extra murals & that,as well as sitting with homework & getting them started.

My dad has a meeting tomorrow morning & asked me to sit with them until they get back. Just wanted to know will it be wrong to take my books to study with & that while I am there. Yes its sunday & my dad has a meeting, his an advocate so its been really hectic for him lately.

The youngest sibling(step sibling),who is in grade 1,really does tend to talk quite a bit,not that I mind. but also need to study. I know they also want to swim,so I do not mind sitting out on the patio area watching them swim & study.

Any ideas?

Of course it's not wrong or rude to study while baby sitting your younger siblings so long as you stay in the same room/area with them. By the pool, though, I'd take a break from studying because the kids will need your full attention. Water is dangerous to be around and it only takes a minute for a kid get into life-threatening trouble.

No reason you can't take your books and do what you have to do. Just be careful about keeping an eye on them in the pool. Don't get so absorbed in your studying that you forget to watch. If the youngest gets to talking too much find something for him to do to keep him occupied and tell him you'll play with him when you get done doing your work. Kids that age like to have "work" of their own so give him an "assignment" like draw a picture for his Dad, etc.

I doubt your dad would think it was wrong for you to study while watching your younger siblings....he'll appreciate the help. Try to be as attentive as possible while they're in the pool, though. Your efforts are very commendable.

not rude at all.. you have responsibilities and that is going to school & being the best you can me.. im 99.9% sure your dad wont mind you studying.. if you give the little one some toys or put a movie on or something that should entertain him/her for a little bit so you can get some studying in..
have fun =)
