Salvation is not received by reciting a prayer or uttering certain words. The Bible nowhere records a person receiving salvation by a prayer. Saying a prayer is not the Biblical way of salvation.
The Biblical method of salvation is believing in Jesus. John 3:16 tells us, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Salvation is gained by faith (Ephesians 2:8), by receiving Jesus as Savior (John 1:12), by fully trusting Jesus alone (John 14:6; Acts 4:12) – not by reciting a prayer.
Reciting a prayer cannot save you! If you want to receive the salvation that is available through Jesus, place your faith in Him. Fully trust His death as the sufficient sacrifice for your sins. Completely rely on Him alone as your Savior. That is the Biblical method of salvation.

You must pray to God admit your sins to him through prayer
then repent of your sins this means mortify sin not justify sin.
at this point you are saved we are saved by the grace of God alone. The sinners prayer is just confessing Jesus and repenting
Now to remain saved ( because we can lose our salvation) You must be baptized ( Jesus told John to baptize him John did not want to and Jesus said you must suffer it so) This is so the holy spirit and come to us and we can put on the full armor of God to fight sin. People who do not get baptized do not have the full armor of God.
We must also keep commandments that Jesus said
Love thy God, love thy neighbor, and love thy enemy
if we do not follow this we can lose our salvation we do not have a license to sin because that would mean we never were truely repentant.

No i do not believe it. Sure the devil has and will continu to say that he has sinned but he won't repent over it.
You are right an empty prayer will not reach our Lord's ears becaus most will forget to ask in the name of Jesus.
But don't Judge who God will forgive or why, that is His decision to make, the Bible teaches that many who think they have lived a good life are full of self righteousnous about their life and miss the boat completly because they forgot about not doing harm to no one, of course we keep on sinning after we ask for forgiveness, this is the human corporal side of us, sin doesn't have to be what we consider to be an act of violence, merely in your thinking and acting towards other people is where most sins lye.
God looks at the heart of man, and it don't matter how many times you recite what you think is a prayer its the actions of the heart that will be judged. Always look for the good in people its there, some people are good at masking it fealing vulnerable when exposed, usually due to scoffing of their beliefs but hang in there you know everyone has beliefs whether good or bad and only One is capable of granting absolution, Peace

True, the devil is a liar! Through man's invention, with the devil's influence, we live in a world that covets and encourages self-worth over God's worth. The world has basically E-dged G-od O-ut (EGO!). To keep up with the world's pace, we have been forced to "schedule" or "pencil-in" time with God into our busy lifestyle. We must recognize this trend of the end times, and fight against the upstream forces of hell, to get into God' presence, to receive His blessings and to further His kingdom! There is no better time to repent, for it is the 11th hour, and Christ Jesus is coming soon to take His bride!

Apparently your God and my God are two different entities. My requires nothing more than faith. I am human and am bound to err. As they say no one is perfect. All I can do is all I can do. I try to be the best I can at anything I partake in. I also do not prejudge a person when it comes to their religious believes. I do not go out an say my religion is the only way to believe, you have become a believer in my way or you will surely go to hell. But others have told me that if I do not see the light of their religion I will surely go to hell. Don't pray for me. Don't wish me anything. I am not fooled. I also don't care if you want to do what you want to. Just leave me out of the equation.

Chris is right: If we believe that Jesus, who is God, died for our sins on the cross and rose again, we are saved (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). It is that EASY. Salvation is EASY: All who call upon the name of the Lord Jesus will be saved (Romans 10).
All you have to do is ask Jesus into your heart and save you, you will be saved!
We are all sinners and most of us recognize that. (except for the sociopaths). If we pray to Jesus to forgive us of our sin, and repent, we will be forgiven. We are all sinners. It's what we learn from it that counts with Jesus. We cannot pray to Jesus to save us from a sin, and then go do it again and pray for us to be forgiven over and over for the same sin. It doesn't work that way. We have to learn from our sin. And we have to keep praying to Jesus. The more we pray, and the more we ask from Him, the more we will receive from Him!
All who call upon the name of the Lord Jesus will be saved (Romans 10).

Amen.
People don't understand that the prayer is meaningless if they don't believe it. They have to accept God into their heart, not just say words to feel as if they can do anything now. The whole point is to not sin, and when you slip up to repent, not just sin when you feel like it and repent each time.

I think a large percentage of people are doing the best they can and trying to live the best lives they can. I admitted I was a sinner for 27 years and it almost destroyed me, literally. I am fallible like any other person and I do my best to treat others the way I would like to be treated. I do believe in God but God is more vast than you seem to think. I cannot waste more time believing in a blood thirsty God. That makes no sense.

You're right, praying for the sake of praying does not give you salvation. It is faith in GOD'S SAVING GRACE and true repentance that go with the prayer that saves. Ephesians 2:8 says, "For it is by GRACE that you have been SAVED, through FAITH- and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast."

Yes, we are to admit we are a sinner, confess our sins and turn from them as we turn to Jesus . Absolutely. Then God requries that we turn from sin and follow jesus into perfection just as He obeyd the father. This is is what being born again means. We arent to try and walk in continued sin and count on grace. thats blasphemy> GOD FORBID, remember?
WE are no longer of a fallen sin nature once we are born again. We are empowered by the Holy Spirit to overcome all sin, and yes God requires it . HE COMMANDS IT.
WE may do a sin we dont yet know is sin, but once we are born again, we wont deliberately sin, as God says so. 1 John 3:9 tells us those born of God wont walk sin. meaning they wont do it knowingly. But, for when we didnt know, grace will cover that sin, as log as we are trying to learn and do the right thing by giving Him our full heart. God wants our hearts. When we do that, and submit our will to His will, then we wont sin. We will walk in the spirit live in the spirit, and we know we are called to be more than conquerors over sin and it can be done, by obedience, and thru the spirit who leads and guides us all the way. For when we have sinned, and we realize it, yes we must repent and turn from that sin as well.
We have no license to sin> God forbid.... remember????
IF we are truly Gods, we wouldnt even want to sin.
|So many today look for how few things they must do to be saved? INstead we should think WHAT MORE CAN I DO FOR YOU LORD??? Works dont save us but faith without works is dead, counts as nothing at all. God tells us there is a time when He stops striving with us We must turn from sin and be led into obedience, or we wont be saved. anything else is only lip service, and God says He wont recognize that at all, be as tho He never knew them.
I like how you think, but I dont remember seeing where they devil admits he is a sinner. Did I miss something? IF so , e mail me.
Keep speaking for the Lord and speak His full word, and to obey what we know . And study to learn more.
God is faithful to us if we are faithful to Him. Anything less from us is blasphemy, and we will be lost. Not because God doesnt love us, but because so many dont love Him truly, they just say they do. Even the devil believes and thats not enough God requires obedience, still leads to blessing and disobedience still leads to curse. Time to be fully Gods or we arent His at all. JEsus is coming soon. Be ready....
God bless you for another great question.
