I have a bunch of thin aluminum pie tins I want to make a graham pie but I dont know if the pie tin is safe to cook in. I'm making the pie right now and need to know if I should just use a cake pan instead?

Most pie tins are coated with Zinc over steel of aluminum and not lead!

Yes you can. Don't leave the pies in them once you cut the pie. Store left over pie in something else. You can use and reuse them at will, as long as you can get them clean.

considering you're using tinned filling and puff pastry. i think you don't make puff pastry from scratch and using the frozen. i could propose you employ pie crust pastry rather except you prefer to blind bake the backside crust first. Puff is in layers and meant to self-compliment and larger used for different cuisine
