think of some good parables ...

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." - Philippians 4:8 KJV.

Salam

Your intentions are good in means of asking if the road to Hellfire has a paved with goodness here on this earth surely it can be something that you think is good for you and all along has been indeed bad for you.
What you need and what you want are very different things in deed.
No one is overburdened by Allah SWT only their own intentions and that should be made clear. One could also be born into whatever Allah SWT chooses for them to be born into. I ask again what about that guy with the hole in his nose with the big bone in there? Is he also paved down a road that worships things and may not know any better?
What are his intentions and so with goodness never erasing. And sins that can be repented. Would there be even a road to hell? Surely no road traveled yet I can read and who is dead is dead in the ground in dust is to dust and peace is for them to rest inshAllah. hmmm there is something called the final hour. You need to research that so you can see the paths but to say there is a yellow brick road here and there is agreed. But a road to a place that is awaiting those who transgress, well I am sure no one as of yet has been removed from there if they are in that kind of punishment to be in there.

Not in Islam it isn't.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing of God be upon him) said, "Actions depend on intentions." so if your intention is good and the action doesn't work out. Then you are rewarded for your good intention.

In fact there is another prophetic narration that states if a person has a bad intention and doesn't do the wrong action and leaves it. This is written as a good action!

So what about when someone does a good action?
A Muslim is rewarded ten times what anyone else is and this increases with sincerity. And this is doubled in Ramadan, like double points on your store card.

So, in Islam if your intentions are good there is reward and if your intentions are bad yet you don't do the wrong action then you are rewarded. So tell me where does a Muslim loose?

Your intentions are good and expect a reward. For a Muslim good intentions help you on the path to paradise.

It's not really a biblical teaching or quote.

Everyone thinks their own intentions are "good", even people considered evil by others.

However "intent" is not "action".

Many days I sit down to the computer with the "intent" (good, I think) to address all of the messages I receive.

However, many times I don't accomplish this.

So, my intent seemed good, but intent without action led me to failure.

In Orthodox Christianity it is taught that an intent to be faithful is not the same as living a life of faith.

In fact, the teaching goes further to say that should a person live faithfully without the intention to do so, this is better than to have intent without action.

This is consistant with the teaching of Jesus; that the servant who says "no I won't" but later obeys is loved more than the servant who says "yes, I will" but fails to follow through and fulfill their promise.

Good intentions are a start. But a lot of people do wrong by people, because they don't understand what the person truly needs. People will say,"I did it for your own good." as they do something that is interfering and harmful to someone. You have to make a concerted effort, with the help of God or the spiritual, to make sure you understand, exactly what you are doing, when attemptring to do good. If you do good things in this world, and make it a better place, you have nothing to fear from our good and moral God, no matter what beliefs you have.

No, from my studies, the road to hell is not paved with good intentions. But also, you have to remember, you may consider your intentions good but if they don't produce good results where they really good? And is good to you considered good compared to humanity or good as in what Christ intended? Well i consider the second to be good that's why I answered no.

You can have good intentions in your life, and you still will go to hell...unless you have Jesus Christ as your saviour...but not only that...but to have a firm relationship with Jesus by praying every day..and living your life in repentance (turning away from sin)...remember..the road to heaven is narrow..and the door is narrow...the road to hell is wide and the door is wide...it is more possible for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich man to get into heaven...its not easy to dodge hell...but i hope you make the right choices..god bless...

You said it!
Just look at President Bush as a example.
Yea, his godly intentions traded our christian values for our freedom.
He tricked us into believing that he stood for christian values, when in reality, he was only interested in taking away our freedom; such as the Patriot act.
God Bless

Descendants of Adam and Eve are not clear what is good and what is evil. Fallen people sometimes call themselves conscience people - who act upon what they think good. If you want real answer, then find out what is good from God, who is absolute good and source of all good. Find out what is absolute goodness or absolute love
