For a great answer ask Slippy the Wondertard. It was written over a course of 500 years by monks ( as we call them today ) and was a great piece of fiction. Nothing - not 1 piece has any proof ( scientific ) hence the " fiction " definition I have given it. As a matter of fact alot of the " stories " do have science on their side as to how they occured , but a higher power influence on them has NO scientific basis. Take noah's ark for example - absolutly NO part of this " story " is remotly possible as it is written. The wood to build it was not available and certainly not in the quanity needed for the size described. How about the animals How could a family maintain all those species for forty days - food , cleaning ect.....These are all impossible. The flood did happen - there WAS a small strecth of land beteewn the seas that gave way. They have retrieved wood from what was a shoreline and also foundations for structures and carbon dating them to about the same time as mention in the bible. Now think about residing there and a land mass beteewn two oceans gives way. imagine the flood and what goes thru your mind. O.K now pass that story from generation to generation - bound to get messed up.Adam and Eve made love and produced offspring - O.K . Now these offspring had to produce more to reach the population we are today. Well incest is said to be a sin . Contradictory to the scriptures. Scientiffically if this happened the DNA would be so mutated that a common cold would kill us. Why do you think the zoo has to keep outsourcing animals to reproduce - science has proved the DNA mutations of inbreeding. Please the Bible is a great work of fiction ! I thankful that we didn't adopt Moby Dick and praise a great whale as our creator.

The original writings of the bible contained 66 books from 40 different authors with many of the books from unknown authors. The bible was first put together as a group of writings by Constantine around 320 AD, A better question would be how many times has the bible been re-written, edited, re-translated since the days of Constantine? The bible is a collection of parables, nothing divine, nothing mystical about it.

The Torah was likely put together by King Ezra's scribes about 640 BC.
There is no way moses ever wrote anything in the bible.
and "Problem" it is certainly not neatly flowing. not even after the huge amount of editing it has been through.

The Bible was written in several languages over thousands of years, by about 66 authors. Yet it all flows neatly together.

Actually no one has any idea who wrote the bible.
The real question is who put it together and why did they do it. The bible was compiled under the auspices of the roman emperor Constantine.
After nearly 300 years of trying to wipe out Christianity Rome switched tactics and Constantine pretended to convert to Christianity.
This of course made him the head of the christian faith because after all he was the emperor.
The bible was compiled to subvert the troublesome teachings of Jesus and bring them more in line with roman ideas.
It worked perfectly.

no one knows. there is no way to prove who wrote what in the bible. stories have been added to and taken from the bible. names of fictitious animals of mythology have had their names changed to satisfy those who claim the bible is all true. where are cockatrices, unicorns and satyrs? the bible mentions them, so they must be real? we only have the word of a nut named moses that he spoke for god. who did the egyptians worship that gave them the power to create fleas out of sand? why isn't this magic reproduced today if it were true at all? the bible is fiction.

The bible was written by approximately 40 men over the course of 1500 years; Moses - 1400 B.C. to John - 90 A.D. These books are the inspired word of God. These men came from all walks of life, Ezra was a priest, Matthew was a tax-collector, John was a fisherman, Paul was a tentmaker, Moses was a shepherd (raised by King). Each author is unique as the books account accurately throughout both the Old and New Testament history and future events…unique in that they do not contradict themselves. Old and New Testament authors lived hundreds of years apart. The prophecy within the pages can not be denied.
