The bottom line about flat feet is if they are symptomatic. That is: do they cause painful symptoms., limit your ability to wear boots or shoes. The military does not want people who start to whine and complain when they have to run or walk long distances. That will get you shown the door quickly. If you are fully functioning, without limitations, then you should pass the physical.

im currently enlisted in the navy and right now and i can tell u that most things are waiverable there are quite a few ppl in the navy with some form of allergies whether it be food, drug, or environmental ur best bet is to contact a recruiter then they can put u through and see if u qualify for the navy good luck at MEPS and if u join see u in the fleet

At MEPS, you will see a Dr., who will give you a quick physical. Part of this exam, he will have you stand duck-footed a few feet away from him, so he can inspect your arches as you stand. Simply roll your feet outwards and stand on the edges to give yourself the appearance of having proper arches.
Besides, when you get to basic, you will be given a choice of running shoes based upon your foot's arch anyways.

Not a problem. I served 12 years. My feet are so flat, that if my toes were webbed, you would think the worlds largest duck appeared and was walking through a locker room from the shower.

I'm flat-footed...and I'm in. I have a few guys working for me flat-footed. At MEPS they'll have you lift a weighted bar over your head while barefooted.

If you are flat footed now, you won't have to worry about getting it in the military....ouch too much weight on the shoulders.

Pes Planus (flat feet) is only disqualifying if it is symptomatic or there is a history of correction by way of prescription orthotics.
