My family had a little "debate" because we were talking about Jehovah's. Well somewhere in our conversation someone said that the reason she doesn't go to church is because every religion bashes each other and tries to make everyone think they are the right religion. What do you think about this?

I agree with her. They all claim to be the right way. But fact is, nobody knows.

On that note, i think its up to the individual to find a path that works for them. I think any religion that climes to be the "RIGHT WAY" needs to be taken with a grain of salt because nobody knows.

That is a true statement. If people of certain religions (especially Christian religions) actually practiced what the bible says, they'd be much more effective at conveying their message.

Instead, they spend their time competing for business, much like other corporations do. It's a sad state of affairs.

One of my favorite quotes on this subject came from Chris Rock in the movie Dogma. He said "the worse thing man ever did was take a good idea and form a belief system around it." That pretty much sums it up.

I think there are many who do that. Some are cults and need to be pointed out as such. At least some of the Jehovah Witnesses believe Jesus is really Michael the arch angel.

Hebrews 1:5
For to which of the angels did God ever say, "You are my Son; today I have become your Father? Or again, "I willl be His Father, and He wil be my Son"?

Then they claim that they don't worship Jesus so they are not worshiping angels.

Hebrews 1:6
And again, when God brings His firstborn into the world, He says, "Let all God's angels worship Him."

Hebrews 1:8
But about the Son He say, "Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.

Notice Jesus is called God, by God the Father.

I agree with your sisters, there is a lot of bashing each others denominations.

I think this is wrong. It Keeps others away, and really we are to be under one roof, the roof of God, through Jesus Christ.

Religion is all about absolution. If one religion's dogma contradicts another then someone will likely mention it even if it is conjectured, the debate gets heated and is never productive. Just look what happened to scientist and inventors during the renaissance (and before that as well). I hate to mention religions by name, but there is one that has struggled to find its birthright for many millennia because of prejudice towards them. All other religions are dismissive and condescending towards them and have suffered greatly as a result.

I disagree. I think this happens more here than any other place. In my church, our minister prays for other denominations.

I know that's not the same thing at all, but I have never heard a member of one religion verbally attacking another.
Maybe I lead a sheletered life as far as this is concerned.

There must be a debate about how good spiritual ideas are, if we are going to progress into becoming a more moral and spiritual world. If we don't progress spiritually, we will never properly address the many serious problems of this world, and make for a better future.

Religions tend to bash each other, because it makes them feel more right.

Yeah, other religions bash each other. Obviously not everyone "bashes" but some people do and sometimes they do it unintentionally.

You have to have a particular religion to go to Heaven and only those that believe Jesus Christ is Lord.
Now see the Hands down/up and you have the answer.
I think those that are born again will go to heaven and you will go to Hell.

I believe that a true believer in a Higher Power will NOT participate in any kind of discussion or debate in defense of or for their belief - - to do so would make them a hypocrite.
