Yeah, they also get kind of mad when they are deleted. They ARE NOT QUESTIONS.

It is not meant to be a prayer room but if someone entres it in all earnest in pursuit of truth, it can be bring a change in his life as such his pursuit of truth turns to become an accepted prayer.Except those who want to while away their time in silly questions/answers, it is a sacred place as acquiring the knowledge of truth is most honourable pursuit.

Well, prayer does pertain to some religions, and this is the RELIGION and spirituality section, sooo...perhaps that's why?
Why not let it be? This isn't the section for Aaron Carter, drinking games, roaming games, avatar games, Chuck Norris, or handbaskets, but those should be allowed too. Why not? It's just another day in R&S. Prayer requests add spice, too. Everyone should be allowed to post whatever they want here, as long as it's not horribly vulgar.

Meh... requests for prayer are really the only thing in R&S I dont troll as they are usually made by sad folks in dire straights so... I let them be.

Religion is synonymous with prayer.
It hurts no one and helps many. It is constructive.
At least no one is insulting another person or calling names.
Prayer is kind. It shows concern and love. What's wrong with being kind and showing concern?

It seems that some people know no other response to real-world events.
Should they be disabused? Or would it be better to let them sink? It baffles me.

Good point. A little less praying and a lot less preaching would certainly make a difference to the quality of the discussion on R & S.

Dunno. They're children. It really is ridiculous though.... if their god won't answer one persons prayers, there's no reason why he'd answer a dozen, or a hundred. Its not like you can "gang up" on a god to make him do what you want him to. But the religious don't think of that kind of thing. They aren't exactly known for their logic.

Having only a limited education, I would think there would be a lot of RELIGIOUS people in the RELIGION and Spirituality section. Sounds like a good place to ask the question, "Will you pray for me?"
