within buddhism their is the doctorine of Annata or No soul/self perminent and real it is the emptiness of self, this teaching is all about.
so if their is no soul or self who is enlightened? no one.
i have meditated for long hours on this subject and can not find anything i could call a self that can not be refuted, so i would agree with this as we are never the same person not now or in the past nor future.

Ephesians 1:18, The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
His riches of course is in Heaven and you must be born again to get their. The word enlightened is in the KJV of the Bible many times and to me it means learning the truth from the Holy Spirit such as when we accept Christ as our Saviour. Thats definitely enlightenment. I have to believe there is.
