It also says to confess your sins to Him and recognize Him as your savior along with Jesus as His one and only son, and you will be saved. No one is perfect other than Him, and He does not expect us to be perfect. He expects us to believe in Him and follow His word and do our best. He also expects us to have Him in our hearts and souls in everything that we do. This helps us to be a better person. No one will make it to Heaven without sin, and He makes this clear. That is why you repent to Him. He is a loving and forgiving God.

It seems that many people miss the point in this whole issue! Everyone born after Adam was born after his likeness. We are all physically born with sin in the flesh and it is this condition which ultimately results in people going to hell. Living a good moral life etc,. does not address the real problem of condemnation which everyone carries with them. The sins we commit are nothing more than an outward manifestation of an inner condition. The Bible clearly states that "there is none righteous, no not one" When Adam sinned, God condemned the whole human race because everyone born after him inherited a condition which separates him from God. That is to say we are all born "spiritually dead" at our physical birth hence, Jesus said to Nicodemus, "Ye must be born again" flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. Why? because it has sin in it! Imagine if we were to inject someone with a slow acting poison which would certainly kill that person over a long period of time. Now the person concludes that if they engage in physical exercise each day, (works) they will overcome the condition which they have and wont die. It's the same with the physical body we all have. In order to overcome the condition which condemns us all, we must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as works simply fail to address the problem that condemns us to hell. Ephesians 2:8-9 clearly tells us that salvation is a free gift and cant be earned by works. I hope this helps!

Your problem is taking the Bible as gospel and the direct word of God when in fact it is obviously anything but. Religion is a means to scare people into subservience. If only people would realize sin doesn't exist. God knows your heart and no one is condemned. We cannot have a loving God who also sends you to burn in Hell. It doesn't make sense. Life is a learning experience, that's all.
LOL Thumbs down all you want...you people make me laugh seriously. First of all, what a tool you have to be to believe against all science and logic that a man was born of a virgin. Do you also realize how many other cultures have believed in gods MUCH older than Jesus who was ALSO supposedly born on December 25th of a virgin, etc.? Of course you don't because that would make you educated. How is this possible, other than Jesus being the continuance of a myth. Don't confuse Christ as the Lord and believe in a centuries old book that has been altered countless times to reflect human sentiments and agendas. This is the information age, and to still be so ignorant is frankly inexcusable. Be grateful the Bible doesn't say fools go to Hell or you would all have first class tickets.

You've already answered your question. So, what is it that you want?
God wants us to be perfect as he is perfect (Matthew 5:48). And he will not abide with ANY sin:
2 John 1:9 -- Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.

No one can be called righteous, no, not even one. Furthermore, if you subscribe to Calvinism, then you'd agree that there is nothing you can do to redeem yourself. If you're more stoic, you'd say that you can pull yourself up by your bootstraps and seek salvation in Jesus Christ.
All sides of Christianity point to the same truth; salvation comes by being in relationship with Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which men can be saved. The good and bad news about salvation is that we can't earn it ourselves, we need only accept it.

It's just so simple. All you have to do is accept Christ as your savior and then follow your good and moral life then you'll be accepted by God. No one comes before the Father but thought Christ alone. I wish I had the book that said that but I don't however I did memorize the verse.

Yes, and the bible also makes it clear that you should stone to DEATH any family members you suspect are non-believers or are suffering from a lack of faith.
I'm sure you are adhering to that one, too, aren't you?
As a wise fellow said: "No man believes the bible means what it says, but rather that it says what he means..."

It's acceptable to God because that's your choice.Although you cant expect him to accept you into his kingdom if you are not willing to accept him here. If you choose not to accept him then you choose to spend eternity separated from him. Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is the one and only sin that will not be forgiven. GOD BLESS!!!

That is why God sent His Son Jesus Christ to be born of a virgin and to die on the cross so all who come to Him may have eternal life. Our works will not save us but we are only saved by the GRACE of God

Living a good and moral life should be good by it self. Being good and nice to your fellow human beings is a joy in life and brings you happiness. The relevance of gods is not important, focus on real people not on imaginary gods.
