Jesus and His Apostles had the power to heal. What you see today is all put on and many times the ones healed are even paid to perform.

No, I don't have faith in any man upon this earth today because I know that no one can heal others the way Jesus and the Apostles did. When the man in the Bible who had leprosy was healed, he was completely restored as if he had never had leprosy.

You won't see anything like that today because no man or woman has that kind of power and believe me, I wish I could be healed so I could have two normal legs and feet and be able to walk and sleep and do things around the house each day without all this pain.

I personally don't believe so with good Bible reasoning! We are told that there would come a time when miracles etc., would cease and that time is long passed as it seems that the age of miracles ended when the last apostle died. The modern so-called faith healers will always tell you that they could not heal someone because they (the sick person) didn't have enough faith. This is not according to the terms of the Bible. When the disciples and apostles healed the sick, they were healed completely and on the spot regardless of the degree of faith of the sick person. The Bible tells us that if there be any sick then anoint their head with oil and let the elders of the church pray over them. It's the same situation with talking in tongues. The bible also tells us that where there are tongues, they shall cease. The mumbo jumbo we see going on in some churches today is not the gift of tongues as mentioned in the Bible. Tongues were a known language but foreign to the speaker however the hearer understood perfectly as he was hearing the gospel in his own native language and the interpreter was there to tell the church what was being said. yet the so-called modern tongues speakers will tell you that in order to be saved, you must be able to speak in tongues as it evidences your salvation. This is not true at all! the bible states that tongues are a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not. A study of the Bible clearly shows that the "them" are unbelieving Jews. This gift was not to be used where there was no unbelieving Jew present. Today we have several hundred people all babbling in some ectatic jibberish which is unknown to be any language on earth, all at the one time. Here again the use of tongues was to be strictly administered in that there were to be no more than 3 people speak in tongues at any one church service and then it was to be one at a time and if there was no interpreter present, they were to keep silent in the church. I hope this helps! God bless!

It depends on if the individual that is conducting (lack of a better word) the conventions is truely called by God to do so and if his spirit is moving in the place. I think that most are fake but that does not mean all are fake. The bible says when two or more gather in my name so shall I be. It also says that he accompanies the praise and worship of his people. So, do people get healed, Yes. Do all the conventions heal, No.

Once as a kid I saw Oral Roberts pull out some kind of dough ball out of some one on television. It was supposed to be a demon inspired tumor. An aid carried it off stage. This is all spiritual hucksterism. A good person to ask though, if you could flag down his jet would be Benny Hinn. He is an expert.

If they really want to convince people they should go to a hospital and start healing people. But that's never going to happen because it is just a buncha garbage.

Hi, Su:

A very good question indeed, because most faith healers are scam artists. They use delusions and the power of suggestion to make people think they are healed. But there are genuine healings.

First, Satan can push nerves and caue illnesses. When he withdraws his Hellish power and allows one's pains to subside, it is declared that a mighty miracle is done, thus those who are sinning, yet think God worked a miracle for them, continue in their lost condition. Jesus said this would happen and will announce: "I never knew you, depart from me..."

Also, God does answer prayers of faith and works real miracles. Often for those living in error, hoping to spare their lives for repentance. So, rest assured that any miracle you see IS NO ASSURANCE THAT THAT PERSON IS SAVED, OR YOU MY PLACE YOUR TRUST IN ANY HUMAN BEING.

Only place your trust in Jesus, He will never fail you.

And increase your faith in Him by breaking the Bible code that proves Him the Messiah at http://abiblecode.tripod.com

Shalom, peace in Jesus, Ben Yeshua

It's more than a gimmick, it is a con for money. All staged for donations from the feeble minded.

Personally, I don't believe that true, authentic miracles happen today. That would make it a gimmick of sorts.

I've never been to one, however, so I cannot testify to their validity.
