wadding is out but splints still in.... Do they hurt coming out? Can I expect it to hurt for much longer ( op two days ago) Any advise/stories of what to expect welcomed pleaseeee

I also had septoplasty two years ago. In my case, there was a sharp pain when the splint was being taken out. Fortunately it took just few seconds to remove that. After that there was no big trouble. It will take a few days to heal completely. Small amount of blood may come out occasionally from nostril, but that is nothing to worry about. Probably you will be advised to apply nasal drops and other medicines for few days. Take those. Take care to see that your nose do not get external blow. Follow your surgeon's advises. Wish you speedy recovery.

My recollection after my septoplasty is that the removal was unpleasant, but I really do not have a strong recollection of it being extremely painful. Follow your post op instructions, keep your nasal mucosa moist. It all resolves rather quickly.

But the bad news is, after having my septoplasty, I had a recent MRI study of the head and the only abnormality found was a deviated septum. I don't know that I will do it again.
