Well, my whole family and a number of friends are people whom I would consider respectable Christians. I am the only atheist in my family, even my husband is a Christian. My friends, approx 90% of them are christian.
What makes them respectable is they respect me and they respect that I have the right to choose my own ways to believe. They are good citizens, they truly care about people and they realize that someone's belief is merely a small part of whom they are.

My old boss. She is a Methodist minister, has taken the time to learn about toher beliefs and accepts and loves people for who they are, not what they believe or practice. She sets an excellent example not only for her child, but for her parishoners as well.
Outstanding woman, one of the few I've ever met who actually tries at all times to live by the precepts of her faith.

Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
An incredibly wise appreciation of justice, mercy and human nature, and the tensions between them, in South Africa and the wider world.
A very human Christian.

My family are very good examples, Jay Bakker is a good example of a more well known (he should be more well known, though) Christian pastor.

Jimmy Carter isn't too bad. Spends his time trying to help people. Doesn't use his faith or position to trample the rights of others.

They love liberal Christians.Somebody like Jimmy Carter who would export nightclubs to Iran free of charge.You are a good Christian if you allowed them to have sex with your dog in your own lounge room.
