As already stated the Fuji guides are by far the best. I would use the BNLG guide for a casting rod and the BLVLG guides for spinning. I'm guessing as to what you may need, not knowing the type of blank you are using. You also will need to get the reel seat and grip components, again Fuji makes the best seats. The grip you can get through several on-line suppliers, Mudhole, Jann's Netcraft and Cabelias.

The thread for the actual wrapping comes in a wide variety of colors, and there are a few different manf's. Gudebrod thread is probably the most widely used and is also available at the places I mentioned above.

You need to lay out the rod for the proper guide spacing. There is some very good information on this at the St Croix web site. They have posted a list of rods and the guide spacing, the type and sizes of the guides, and list suggested grip assemblies. This is a great resource. St Croix also sells guide and handle kits.

This is all I can add right know with out knowing more. You can email me directly and I will be happy to help you further.

I'll be happy to help, but I need some more info on the blank.
What kind of blank ? Fly rod, spin, noodle, baitcast, or surf ?
What legnth is it ?
What line test or fly line weight is it rated for ?
What kind of fishing will you be doing ?
Also, what color and finish is it ? This would help in choosing your thread color and whether or not to use color preserver.

If I can get those specs, I can give you a detailed answer.
I know there are several other rod-builders who frequent this board, I am sure with the additional info they will be able to
give you some good advice as well.

Fuji guides are the best. As far as wrapping local bait and tackles shops would know best. There are also small business that customize fishing poles. Many in Massachusetts.

AFTCO Heavy-Duty Roller Guides and Tip Tops
would be a great addition to your Lamiglass custom rod. For wrapping use the brand FishSteelhead recommeds.

As stated by others, Fuji ceramic guides be bout' the best. As for the wrap material I've heard "Gudebrod Threads", are considered one of the finest (this be from a friend of mine that's inta' rod building) ;)...
