That is a defeatist attitude. Yes, we are all going to eventually die, but look at the challenges and enjoyment we can have during the journey. We don't need to live, but rather we have been given this opportunity to live. Why not make the most of it.

And is anything worth doing, ultimately?
Tough questions.
The biological answer is that a long time ago, an event occurred that produced some molecule that was able to replicate itself. As more and more copies of this thing were made, random changes occurred that made some newer, fitter version of the molecule. This new version eventually overtook the original in number. This was the first instance of competition among species and is the basis of the gene-centered view of natural selection. In this view, complex biological systems (human bodies, for instance) are nothing more than carriers of the ever-present self-replicating genes. These genes, whether we know it or not, are STILL playing that game that started almost 4 billion years ago in some pool of stuff somewhere in the world (a lot of questions remain unanswered). As long as there is life, the game isn't over. Human sex drive, which is REALLY why we as individuals are here, is just a reward mechanism for propagating our genes.
So how does this tell you WHY there is life and what meaning it may have? It doesn't. All it tells you is that life just IS and that it persists regardless of whether a particular organism "needs" to live or not.
Perhaps that's depressing. Perhaps it would have been better to never have been born at all. Perhaps...but those just aren't the circumstances. The fact is that you have been born. You are here now. It's up to YOU to define meaning in your life by how you live and the things you do because the world provides you with nothing by way of answers or guidance. You could kill yourself which would say, "there is no point in waiting for the inevitable and the best thing to do is to end your own life". BUT you could also take hold of this incredibly unique condition of being a member of perhaps the most intelligent group of organisms in the universe, ever, and try to find what you are capable of doing. You could live to find happiness for yourself, you could live to reshape the world into a place where you actually want to live, you could live to help other people...No one can make these decisions for you.

I could turn that question on its head -- why do we need to eat when we're destined to poo it all out tomorrow?
The fact is some people are good for nothing except as machines to turn food to sh:: (as some old white guy who lived really well said. I think it was Ben Franklin or Disraeli, maybe). But others do a lot with their lives -- make the world fun and wonderful for themselves and others.
I think there's little point in asking "why?" The fact is, we're here. Might as well do something with it, rather than putz around until we dream that final dream.

Our creation did not come randomly.
Our life came by a great reason By Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'la, to only worship Him.
Our life is a gift from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'la.
This gift has a determined roadmap, that you have to live in this first life and work in the straight and good path then die then live again to get your retribution (from what you have already done in the first life).
According to this retribution you will be in eternity either in Paradise or in Hell.
This our life..... All human being, no difference.......

YOU don't. Living is a personal choice once you are old enough to do something about it.
However, I personally would rather live and enjoy my life, help others, learn a bit, love than just sit like a lump because Oh NO -we're all gonna die someday.

That is a good question -- the ultimate question to ask, in fact.
The truth is, all of us are going to die. So, what's the point?
To glorify the God who created us. To obtain eternal life so that we live forever. We do this by accepting the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and turning our lives over to him. He gives us life beyond the grave.
And we in return give him our life.

So we can do amazing stuff here on earth. Meaningful stuff, with the help of God. He came exactly for that purpose, not just to die for our sin but to give us an abundant life, a life full of goals and ambitions, and a personal plan for everyone who receives Him.

If you want to die, don't let me stop you. It will just mean more resources for the rest of us.
I don't usually say questions are stupid, but this one qualifies.
