All things in scripture have several meaning, in fact all thing associable, or to be understood in relation to other things have multiple meaning according to its relational context.

Light primarily is opposed by darkness, light give nigh immediate knowledge, while in darkness you have to bump into to something, or hear etc., to know its there. Light also represents variations of color, but all are derived from one light which is all-inclusive of the various colors, generally called pure white.

Light also signifies possessing vision, wisdom, foresight, it is to have in one's possession the virtues of an object, in the mirror of the soul, even though they are deprived of physically holding it, because the light carries its character to the one with vision by its reflection of it particular qualities. In such a case it is to be rich in the things of heaven, which is the knowledge of all things, and darkness, signifies privation of that knowledge and virtue.

Love and Light are also synonyms biblically. Light is contrast, and God is veiled in light, just as the face of Moses was, to be an example of God, as in Exodus [Jewish version translated] it says, God speaking to Moses, "I have made you to be Me [God], and Aaron as your prophet." Thus His face shone so brightly that people could not see Moses, Just as people could not know God the Father, except by Whose covering was Christ Himself, in the latter dispensation.

Thus light speaks to us the knowledge of the distinction of the rational soul, but Godhead is entirely incomparable, beyond the notion of light and dark, for God engendered both, so is transcendent of both. The Single, and Holy is not a multiple to be compared except as similes in the face/character of Christ, and the other holy Ones of God.

If you understanding, then you'll rectify all misunderstanding and enmity between Jewish, Christian, and Islamic teachings of God, for they do not disagree, but the people do not know what is true.

God bless.

Light Meaning In The Bible

Well, for one, you are correct that the Bible states the days as literal 24-hour days, because "the evening and the morning" are mentioned. And, there's no way the earth is millions or billions of years old. The earth is only thousands of years old. The entire history of the Bible only goes back six thousands years or so. Therefore, the answer to your question is obvious: all the theories of us being here for millions or billions of years are either deceptive or incorrect. Also, we have no knowledge as to how creation functioned during the beginning. Remember: it was before the fall of man. And so, things could have been much different, too. If God created the universe, he surely could have created light for the plants. And, how do we even know that plants functioned the same way in the beginning of creation? We don't.

Light represents knowledge and understanding as opposed to ignorance and misunderstanding represented by darkness. Light also represents truth as opposed to untruth represented by darkness. The ability to see literally requires light. The ability to understand requires knowledge and truth. Darkness is the absence of light. Ignorance is the absence of knowledge and truth.

Light represents truth and walking with God. It is also used to show the right path. It can also be part of a title.

1 John 1:7 [I]f we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

John 8:12 Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, "I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life."

Light in the bible is enlightenment, and knowledge. I'm not sure the Bible has much of it, however.

"Light" is the quality that is representative of the "Wisdom of the Divine", sometimes called "Divine Luminous Wisdom". It is beyond knowledge, understanding, and that level of consciousness which man understands as enlightenment.

"Light" is intermingled within that Power that man knows as God, The Creator!

This is specifically detailed in all Holy Scriptures, in hopes that man will partake of the "Wisdom" that God so freely shares with his creation, allowing man to return home safely!

"Peace be with you."
