Based on yahoo teen section . why arent parents teaching young kids about sex & demanding schools teach precom
Looking at the teen section and pregnancy section its bleedingly obvious that teenagers are starting to be sexaully active as young as 12, only being utterly clueless.
The the most common mistakes getting kids pregnant is not knowing about precome & how you can get pregnant when not having 'proper sex' but 'fooling around' or thinking puling out works or safe times of the month.
Its nothing to do with encouragement or peer pressure or the media.
People develop feelings, find someone they like, want to be close, kiss and go further due to hormones and needs, desires and love feelings
& would do so on some desert island with no magazines, TV, Films, sex ed, condoms, relgion or lack of it or peers pushing them.
The reason why none know about precome & sperm on fingers & morning after pills etc is they aint been told as it would involve covering 4play, bjs, finger

breast sex and all the non penetrative sexaul activity...
ie when the human act of mating is shown all you get is... for some unknown reason a guy gets hard, puts it in the female (just to make a baby), no thrusting, postions, or feelingsa...
like some robot, then squrts and nine months later a baby.
Short of some repressed relgious cult who on earth is like that?
what about the dating, kissing, cuddling, passion, romance, making out, getting steamy, undressing, getting condoms on, foreplay, feeling up and all the other stuff beofere penetration, the thrusting, the postions... the oh yeah baby pump it harder, the orgasim, the, catching breath, pulling out, removing condom, getting cleaned up then continuing with the foreplay stuff, getting the girl off , and snuggling and cuddling and falling asleep?

So as not covered either kids go in blind... Bit like starting to drive on your own with 5 minutes of lessons.
Or go ask equally clueless mates who heard something like you wont get pregnant standing up from the same one who mentioned guys like bjs.
As the teacher and parents ie responsible adults did not do their job knowing full well having been there , done that what it was like for teenagers.
And as said in line with hormones this is happening to 12 year olds so why on earth not start long before like the dutch so can cover everything over and over till it sinks in before they even hit puberty.
so fully confident and clued up before hand.
Including reasons why its better to wait abit, and progress more slowly not due to some m,oral dont be a slapper its illegal reason. But simply so will be better off and things work out better.
ie practice kissing and getting good at it first.
realising if people are begoming sexaul age 12... they need a lot more support

billy when kids learn naturally as you say... thats when they all get pregnant thinking pulling out works, not knowing about precome, thinking that semin does not go through underwear, others thinking you can get pregnanct from oral sex.
And in reality all things like oral are done before you have sex and usually an essentail part so the femles lubricates properly so it does not hurt.

oh and explain then why girls are having periods earlier due to diet ergo earlier hormones ergo earlier sex.
think you need to study bioloby billy and the post above yours as you are a classic example of denial that kids are grwoing up.
I take it you belive withotu the internet, meadia etc.
females would not start periods and grown breasts,
males would not have erections and wet dreams.
and everyone would stay a virgin till age 80?

Regards pressure.
teenagers should be tught to have sex whenever THEY feel readdy and are equiped and educated up.
ONLY when they want... ie if someone is pressuring you well wack balls or face.
But thats dealing with jerks... Fact is withtou pressure or the media teenagers still become sexaul when they find somone they like

There where 7 year olds in my old archery club using lethal, live ammunition with minumum suppervision with the maturity to handle it.
Most of them had been tught sex ed and completely ok with it as part of nature and why grown ups act the way they do.
seen younger as well.
it does not stop them being kids and into kid stuff.
what it does prevent is severe truma say if they see mum and dad having sex say walking in to bedroom .
Thinking daddy was murdering mummy or hurting her, running out the door into the streets, away from home where in danger from real abusers.
Far better the kid in the moring takes the micky... mum and dad were shagging mum and dad were shagging
Or that wonderful opening scene in the origonal film Carrie where a poor girl runs screaming from a shower with her first period as her class mates laugh shouting plug it up and throughing pads and tampons at her as she is terrified and thinking she is dying and nobody will help...

The dtuch kids are also taught about peadophila at an early age and the tricks peadophiles use like wanting secret games and not telling paeents and how preiests, police and parents can abuse so can recogine it.
I would add on top high level self defence lessons from an early age such as ninjitsu...
which was an assains martial art not a sport

Parents are unwilling to admit to the fact that their children are sexual beings. It is these same parents who generally oppose comprehensive sex education in the schools because they think that if their kids have the facts they will go out and start having sex even though the statistics show this notion to be utterly false.

It IS a lot to do with the media - no telly portraying adult themes all the time, no internet porn for kids to stumble on, no teen magazines which kids read portraying adult themes AND you would not need to teach young kids about sex.
The days were better when parents told their children about sex when they felt the time was right instead of being told about practises they don't need to know anything about like oral sex - they will find out things like this for themselves naturally in the process of discovering what they desire. It doesn't need to be taught. Being taught about the things you mention takes away the joy of discovery when the time is right for the individual. The teacher needs to teach the bare basics of how you get pregnant and how sexually transmitted diseases can happen and then say "these are the only ways you can get pregnant and you cannot get disease in any other way" not detail all sexual practises under the sun like you say. Why should it cover blowjobs and foreplay when all the teacher has to say is this.
It is this constant barrage of sexuality in the media and sexualisation permeating through all levels of society that is making children develop earlier than they did in the past, cutting short their childhood. How do you know for certain that this point is not correct?
Yes, males would get erections, females will start periods but
it is up to the parents to know that when this is happening, and not before ,that they must talk about the basics to their children. It worked for millenia, it can work now.
Why should schools teach this all at the same certain age before some girls have started their periods - this cuts their childhood short.
All parents should tell their kids that they can come to them with any questions on this matter without fear, if they choose to ,after they have given the basics when the time is right.

Parents have their heads up their asses on this issue. Knowing about safe sex not only prevents pregnancy, it also prevents diseases, and that's a public health concern. So no, it should not be up to the parents, who are often (very often) too embarrassed to talk about the birds and the bees. For one thing two forms of contraception are very effective used at the same time. This can include a condom and the pill, or a condom and a spermicide. Teens do need to be shown how to put condoms on, as the roll at the bottom gets snagged and you've got to be able to unroll it without tearing it. They also have to be the right size. And what could be safer than masturbation? It's safe to watch each other masturbate as well, as it is to use sex toys. It's also totally safe to watch porn, as you're not even touching the intangible people on the screen. 13 year olds have been having sex for thousands of years. Do you really expect that genetic urge to disappear by the use of abstinence teaching?

i do agree with you on this..
personally I think that the parents should be teaching the kids about sex when they start teach about Privet parts of the body.
I have always said for kids that if they are going to do it then i would rather them be safe then sorry. while at this time i have no children of my own but i have a god child that is looking at moving in with me and one of the things that she will be getting hear with me a lode of condoms and well if she has the boyfriend that she wont to have sex with then she can bring him home at lest then it is all up to her and if she does not wont to do anything at any time she wont's to change her mind then she is not on her own somewhere with no support and she is safe no matter what.
teaching children about sex is something that should be done by every parent the schools have too little time to do anything with anyway and the parents should be the ones to talk to the children about it.
but as this is not happening the parents should be taking up where the school are not but that is not happening for a lot of kids at lest now we have yahoo answers and I hope that at lest they can get some good advice but yet again there is a lot of fouls in hear too!!
I have seen a lot of the post talking about the Dutch sex ed and it sounds great, I know when i was at school i we never had it, one of my friends on the yahoo answers has been sup prised at the amount of information i have on sex ed (considering i was a virgin till early this year and in my 30's) but yet what he did not count on is that i love to read medical books :) great sours of information if you can read them LOL
but there is to my way of seeing the questions in hear from the teens no idea what for what 4play is and there is a Lot that don;t think of where there finger go after the seaman is on it and so i think that there is a long way to go.
there was a question 1 or 2 days ago where they wonted to take the morning after pill the day before having sex!! I mean even that they did not under stand so what the hell is it that the teen knows of is so limited and the name did not give her the idea as to how it is meant to be taken that really IMO Shaw's the lack of education the teens get and is it any wonder that they are still thinking the same as we did in school that if you jump up and down after sex you can not get pregnant!!!!
come on parents teach the kids right if you can not maybe get your local doctor to help you with it, you might even learn from the kids questions and have a better sex life form it too!!

Just read your post. This morning I made the decision that after school I am going to have the sex chat with my daughter. Although she is only 10 some of her peers are already discussing sex issues and at present she knows absolutely nothing about it. I am pleased that in today's society she has reached this age without knowing but I feel now she should know. I would rather her hear it from me then get second hand (and probably wrong info from school friends). I do agree with you that teen pregnancy is a result of lack of decent education but I feel that it is a parents duty to be there to listen and give advice. At this moment I am going to give the basics "facts of life" but will stress to her that she can approach me with any questions that she may need answering without feeling embarrassed.
The world has changed dramatically and children are growing up so fast - sometimes without them really wanting to!

I agree completely parents NEED to be teaching our children about sex, not leaving such a HUGE issue for the schools to do.
However I wouldn't base ANYTHING on the teen section here. The section is meant for parents with teens, but is overrun by teens themselves. I also wouldn't put much into the stories you here on these boards.

Oh look, thumbs down. What a surprise for someone who suggests abstinence.
Btw Billy I agree with you. There is a lot of pressure these days for girls to have sex. I lost mine at 16, and trust you me, there WAS pressure, I was the last to hold out.
So why don't we focus on the PRESSURE there is on young women these days, not birth control! JEEZ!

The only time a physical compliment is expected and truly appreciated by a woman (unless she’s naked) is when you first pick her up for a date. Learn here http://AttractAnyWoman.emuy.info/?gYSJ
She has put forth a great deal of effort to look good for you and her efforts should be acknowledged. Tell her she looks pretty or beautiful; maybe give her a little spin while you appreciate her loveliness. Then stop. After that moment all compliments should be general, like “that’s fascinating”, “cool” and “awesome”. You will make a woman feel more attractive by letting her know that that she is interesting and special than you will by talking about her physical attributes.

i wouldn't want some stranger teaching my kids about something which is supposed to be special in their lives. i certainly refuse to let my 7 year old be taught sex ed/ he is still a baby and this subject is non appropriate. plus the school where my older son went to the teacher of phse...has been banged up for paedophilia...christ...the worlds gone mad...nope my kids will learn when they are emotionally ready to learn and they will have the emotional side explained to them to. school system stinks...we opted out of it and teach them at home....like hippies lol xx
