On what grounds can they jusify their presence in India, in light of the fact that the 1947 partition was made on "religious grounds". The whole purpose of partition was so that Islamic civilisation of the Indian subcontinent did not want to be in a Hindu dominated country. It was also so that Hindus and Muslims could live in peace seperately. Hindus agreed to lose thousands of acres of lands so that we could live in a muslim free country and yet despite that to this day we have not only a muslim minority but the world's second largest muslim population!
On what basis can they justify their presence in our country???
I accept that India is a secular democracy and that they have a legal, political, social and constitutional right to be here, but do you agree that how far they have a MORAL RIGHT in highly questionable???

For example, if person A was eating from person B's plate and person B as a result took food from his plate and placed it on a new plate for person A, yet despite that person A was still eating from person B's plate, c'mon would person B not get irritated???

For those of you that are saying "they have a moral right because people are equal", well in that case why didn't they oppose partititon??? There were many hindus who wanted to stay in Pakistan, were they allowed to do so??? Pakistanis and Bangladeshis acquired two brand new countries. What did we acquire??? We only lost. The palestine catastrophe took place at the same time as the Indian partition. To this day muslims haven't forgotten the Palestine cause, Yet they want others (who the muslims have wronged) to forget about their grievances.

Buddhists, Chrsitians, Jews, parsees and sikhs have as much a right to be in India as the hindus because there was never a partition involving these religious groups. Please don't get other Indians involves. The 1947 partition was oriented around muslim - non-muslim.

Just like the United States, India is home to many different cultures and religions. Sure the partition took place to get couple Muslims what they wanted, but those who stayed call India their home to this day. And they are Indians, as everybody else. On the basis of the Indian constitution, it is their (muslims) right to live in that country. As once said by Lokmanya Tilak "Swaraj (freedom) is my birth right, and I shall have it"

What about people of other religious persuations, like Christians, Buddhists, and others?
Throw them out too.
In Hinduism there is Dvaitam, Vishishtadvaitam, and Advaitam. Create separate countries for each?
Is not India the richer for having as citizens Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad, Zakir Hussain, Sheik Cinna Maula, Bismillah Khan, any number of classical musicians, all big actors, and our previous president Kalam.
Let us put a stop to this kind of thinking right now.
There have been great Muslim poets in Tamil and Malayalam and other Indian languages in India, who have written on the Hindu gods.
They are welcome here. I am a Hindu myself, with hordes of great Muslim friends.

Basically I would say they have right... like any other indians have.
If the great thinkers of Hinudism (like you) had made all Muslims.. chrishtians.. etc to go from india and had had the nation of Hindu (not Socialist Secular Republic). But that portion of land had to be vaccated by the hindus living in there...
Had it been done then there would have been such demand by Tamils, Malayalis, Kannadigas, Telugus, etc for separate country... may be further more separate countries by many castes... etc.
The so called india what we see today would not have existed...
And this is what english wanted.
Unfortunately for them there was no one who can think analytically (like you) was there and english's wish failed.
For your better understanding I would say Pak is the place RESERVED FOR MUSLIMS and rest of the India is Open for all

Those Muslims who left India at the time of partition are Pakistanis and those Muslims those who stayed back are Indians. There are also Muslims in other countries too. but why debating only for India and Pakistan Muslims. we need to be harmonious not debating on this type of sensitive subjects.

Partition was not really effective and large populations of muslims stayed on in India. It was voluntary not forced, you remember. And they grew because their religion prohibits any sort of family planning.
So, yes, those who opted to stay have a moral right too.

I think they have the right to live there but not demand another stat for muslims. the main problem is they want to live by muslim laws and as you say they can move to pakistan in that case.
