As far as I know it's not advisable to have alcohol intake while undergoing a medication treatment coz it will alter or reduces the therapeutic effect of the medication and might give you unwanted adverse effects. <*-*>

Yes-the benzodiazepines are central nervous system depressants, just like alcohol. This is how you end up stopping breathing or, even tastier, vomiting and drowning in your own throw up.
