I recently got contacts and after a few hours I always have red eyes. I use red eye drops before I put my contacts in, and this lasts for a couple hours maybe. I keep reading on the labels and in discussions that I can't use them while wearing contacts. I asked my eye doctor and he said I could, just that it has a rebound effect. Why can't I use them? Does it really affect my contacts? And can they be damaged?

You shouldn't be experiencing red eyes when wearing your contacts. If you do, there is something wrong. Perhaps you are allergic to the lens solutions that you are using, or allergic to the materials that the lens is made out of and you need to switch brands, or perhaps your lenses don't have the right fit, or aren't the right prescription.

(I don't know why you can't use red eye drops while wearing lenses, and I have no idea what a "rebound effect" is.)
