That is a misinterpretation of the reason why Jesus got baptized. He said he wanted to do it because he wanted to do all things right. There is nothing in the bible to indicate that he was powerless and had no authority until that time.
At all times he *could* have done his miracles, it just wasn't time yet for him to begin his ministry.
Jesus actually did do one miracle before his ministry was *supposed* to begin, and that was at his mother's request, when he turned the water into wine.
Your thought was correct -- from day one, Jesus was God inthe flesh.

Well it is understandable why someone may believe that since one needs authority to act in God's name. Now Jesus was quite different than the rest of us in the fact the He is the only begotten son and He lived a perfect life. But He is not God the father. They are two separate beings with one in purpose and understanding. Christ was sacrificed to satisfy the demands of justice and grant us mercy. If He was the father himself why would He need to sacrifice Himself to satisfy His own law? Sorry back to your question. You don't hear of any miracles by Christ until He was 30 and baptized. And there are a few reasons for that. One being that no one was accepted as a rabbi or teacher until they were 30. And the other may very well be He needed the gift of the Holy Ghost who is the third member of the Godhead. I'm not sure on that one though, which is your original question, so I will look into it and let you know what I find.

People are always trying to get our minds off the truth of how Great our Lord and Saviour really is in order to interfer with our Worship and Praise.
2 Peter 1:11
For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 1:10-12 (in Context) 2 Peter 1 (Whole Chapter)
2 Peter 2:20
For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
2 Peter 2:19-21 (in Context) 2 Peter 2 (Whole Chapter)
2 Peter 3:2
That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
2 Peter 3:1-3 (in Context) 2 Peter 3 (Whole Chapter)
2 Peter 3:18
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Your original thought was correct and the guy on the radio is wrong.
I just had someone tell me that at work and I think it stems from people that believe Jesus was just a prophet and not hte son of God. In order to believe that, they have to make all the assumptions you mentioned and theyre FALSE.
If they believed or knew the trinity, they would know that JESUS and the HOLY SPIRIT are 1 in ESSENCE. What decended on Jesus at his baptism was the PERSON of the Holy Spirit bearing witness as well as the Father that Jesus was the Messiah. This to my knowledge is the only moment in history where ALL 3 persons of the trinity are present bearing witness on earth. (of the Gospel)
People that maintain that Jesus needed the Holy Spirit in order to do anything of value for God are supporting the arguments of those who claim that Jesus wasnt really the son of God, but just a good teacher trying to do Gods will.

Jesus said "I and my Father are one" so everything that came from Jesus came from God. He also said God is a spirit and you must worship him in spirit and in truth. And last but not least, No One has seen God at any time.Jesus walked the earth and performed miracles. God gave him the power to do that just as if God himself were walking the earth performing miracles. Jesus said I can do all things through Him that sent me. Read the new testament.

That man was wrong and in err
Jesus was Baptized by John to fulfill prophesy
He had all power he was born of God
Many teach not the truth because they know not the truth and have made up things to say
Believe not every spirit but try the spirits to see if they are of God

It's assumption. Jesus did what God told Him to do. He said so. There are a few things that you will only get fro the Old Testament. I exhort you to study Jesus in the Old Testament!!!
Things like this:
7 I form the light and create darkness,
I bring prosperity and create disaster;
I, the LORD, do all these things.
8 "You heavens above, rain down righteousness;
let the clouds shower it down.
Let the earth open wide,
let salvation spring up,
let righteousness grow with it;
I, the LORD, have created it.
9 "Woe to him who quarrels with his Maker,
to him who is but a potsherd among the potsherds on the ground.
Does the clay say to the potter,
'What are you making?'
Does your work say,
'He has no hands'?
10 Woe to him who says to his father,
'What have you begotten?'
or to his mother,
'What have you brought to birth?'
11 "This is what the LORD says—
the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker:
Concerning things to come,
do you question me about my children,
or give me orders about the work of my hands?
12 It is I who made the earth
and created mankind upon it.
My own hands stretched out the heavens;
I marshaled their starry hosts.
( Psalm 45 )
You have to appreciate that God planned this from the beginning, or even before the beginning. Do not do as the person you heard from, stop assuming weakness when concerning the things of God!

Mark 10:18
"Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God."
Jesus, in his own words, said that he is NOT GOD in the flesh, but his messenger on earth. I don't understand why this would be a frightening concept to you. GOD is no less real if what Jesus said in this passage is true - all it means is that GOD is and always will be the one true GOD.
Worshipping a man as an aspect of GOD is idolatry- it breaks GOD's first commandment. If Jesus performed any miracles, it was because they were done through him with the only One with the authority over the worlds - that is GOD.
and FYI, I think that Christian Radio nonsense is just that. What authority or knowledge to these people have to interpret GOD's will? Stick to the Bible and the true word of GOD if you wish to know the One GOD.

I am not sure what program you were listening to, perhaps the program was Islam based; seeing as Islam denies the Deity of Christ. That teaching would go right along with their views on Christ. (Christ just a prophet) I do not believe a Christian station would broadcast such mis-leading information unless it was during a debate with a believer of a different faith. The truth is that Christ was, is, and always will be God Almighty. God Bless You.

Jesus, from the day he arrived in the manger, was God. He always had the magnificent power of God, he just chose not to use it until he had been baptised. Do not follow everything you hear blindly. Search for the truth on your own and don't let anyone stand in your way. You choose what you believe.
