The fact that Mary IS the Mother of God was established in scripture, which is the inerrant, inspired written word of God:
Luk 1:39 And Mary rising up in those days, went into the hill country with haste into a city of Juda.
Luk 1:40 And she entered into the house of Zachary and saluted Elizabeth.
Luk 1:41 And it came to pass that when Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the infant leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost.
Luk 1:42 And she cried out with a loud voice and said: Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.
Luk 1:43 And whence is this to me that
"THE MOTHER OF MY LORD should come to me?"
This is the Holy Spirit plainly speaking through Elizabeth.
It's NOT about who Mary is .... it's always been about who Jesus is.
The Holy Spirit put those words in the mouth of Elizabeth so there could be no doubt that Jesus is God.
Jesus is God. Mary is his mother. Mary IS the Mother of God. ("God bearer" ... "Theotakos" ... in the Greek.)
Anyone who attempts to place qualifications or limitations on this supernatural, totally innovative, God-ordained and God-declared historical and theological fact is either a heretic or a fool.

The womb of Mary was the vessel that contained the flesh of the Child which bore the Spirit of God:
Zechariah 2:10
" Sing for joy and be glad, O daughter of Zion; for behold I am coming and I will dwell in your midst," declares the LORD.
Hebrews 2:9
9But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.
The Mother of God? Isn’t that a Roman Catholic dogma?
The vessel of the flesh that was the human carrying the essence of God. Yes. The mother? Nope.

I agree with "Pastor Art" and "busy-lit"...Mary cannot be the Mother of God for that would mean she came first in existence before God. Jesus is God who was already there since the beginning of time...read John 1. Mary is therefore just a vessel used for the son of God to be born to earth in human form. She is if you may, say, the mother of Jesus of Nazareth. It is not right to term her as the "Mother of God, that's entirely a different thing. I guess the term "Mother of God" is just exagerating it to justify the teaching that Mary is ANOTHER mediator. Which is not Biblical really. Personaly I don't understand why there's so much fuzz about her and people venerating her to the status of a deity..is'nt that blasphemy? First commandment,
"You shall have no other gods before [a] me.
"You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments.
Mary is HUMAN capable of sin just like you and me. A creation just like you and me. I know that I should give due respect for all the good qualities of Mary, she is a true follower of God in her obedience...but to venerate her is a completely different thing.

Where in the bible does he claim to be God? I've always believed him to be the Son of God, and Mary the Mother of Jesus through immaculate conception.

No.
Mary is the mother ONLY of his EATHLY nature. Jesus was 100% man, 100% God. His humaness came from his mother. His deity came from God the FAther.
However, Catholics teach that Mary was sinless, was in essence given Jesus' deity and imparted it to him. In this way they believe that Mary was the "Mother of God" or "Mother of Salvation" and that is why she is prayed to/through and worshipped to this day.
False belief, false teaching. Dont buy it.

i do not understand the position you acquire those techniques about evangelicals or protestants -both (no longer all protestants declare to be evangelicals) do settle for Mary because the "Theotokos" or "God-bearer". it is the miracle of the Incarnation - God taking on human flesh. Jesus is totally God (and has been so for all eternity) and grew to grow to be totally human in His delivery. What protestants and evangelicals do no longer do is venerate or worship or to wish to Mary as such (neither is she the Queen of Heaven to them). convinced, Mary is venerated and blessed for her particular position in giving delivery to and raising Jesus, yet she, like something else of those who stick with Christ turned right into a sinner in choose of Christ lack of life to redeem her. Frankly, i imagine she'd be embarrassed to maintain in mind that human beings would turn their interest or prayers from Jesus to herself.

Jesus(Isa) never claimed himself to be God but Satan & his fellows hide the truth. He is a prophet of Almighty Allah(God).
Imran is the father of Mary and She is the mother of Jesus.
The real true is in the SURA NO.2 of The Holy Quran
"SURA - AL-IMRAN"

NO,
Jesus is the only begotten Son of God.
if you read in the NT Jesus said before Abraham I was, read Genesis, God said let "us" make man in "our " image, who do you think he was talking to? Jesus of course.
Mary was chosen to be the vessel to bring forth the Messiah in Human form, He had to have Human pain/feelings so he could understand what we go thru

Jesus only claimed to be the son of Yahweh, but we in the Goddess community are fond of saying (to Christians) that our Goddess gave birth to your god.
I do believe she's referred to as "Holy Mary, Mother of god" in the rosary, though. That title and the use of rosaries are both Pagan in origin, though.

NO! Jesus was already God before He "took on a tent of human flesh".When He was born, then He took the name Jesus.Mary is the mother of Jesus of Nazareth, the perfect human who came to die for us.That would mean she was the mother of the Holy Spirit and God the Father. That would make them triplets!Since God is a trinity and one at the same time(1x1x1=1 God in three persons as opposed to 1+1+1=3 gods)they could not be separated in that way existentially.
