A bohunk is another somewhat derisive name for a Bohemian. I'm not sure there's a section of Europe that is still called Bohemia, but that's where my Grannie came from about 100 yrs ago, so I'm about a quarter Bohunk. Anymore it could refer to someone like Seinfeld's Kramer (except true 'bohemians' are more arty, and just scrape by, with a little more difficulty than Kramer seems to.) They seem to be mostly in large cities where anonymity is easier. I don't think homosexuality is an issue any more than the gen. popul't'n.

In the US it is a derogatory racial slur applied to people of Czechoslovakian or Hungarian descent. In Canada, it is applied to Ukrainians. It's been used in various applications to Eastern Europeans since the 1890s at least.
