My best friend has lost a lot of people in his life, including his mother and father, both of them tragically right before his eyes. His dad when he was in his teens and now his mom. He doubts God so much, and he is questioning why death always happens to him and why his mother had to suffer. If God is so great why didn’t he make it painless for her...I don’t know how to answer these questions he has. I try to tell him about God's mercy and how he wants us to have faith through these things but he always has a come back. Like why does god make people suffer anyways...

Any help I appreciate it.

To those who want to comment, please do so with an actual response, not a snide remark. If you don't believe and you can’t really help me, please keep your remarks to yourself. Thank you.

I sometimes feel that the best way to help someone back to faith is by reminding them of the stories of Joseph and Job. The Lord Himself knows why these things happen and we are reminded that when a loved one is taken it is because the Bible states that "it is appointed unto man once to die" so we know that there are no accidents in God's book as death comes by appointment. In the case of both Joseph and Job, after their ordeal was over they were both much stronger for having endured the trials. The Lord Himself told us that we would have tribulation in this world as he did. Try and encourage your friend by telling Him that God cares and trials are sent to strengthen our faith as untried faith isn't worth much to the believer. The Lord will use this trial for the good of your friend and for the benefit of good service for Himself. I know of others including myself who have gone through the most horrific periods and wondered why these things should happen only to find that in later years, it all turned out to be for the benefit of those concerned and others as well. I hope this will be of some help to you and your friend. May the Lord Bless you both.

Tell him God is the Creator and He has right to do anything with His creation but onething we are sure our suffering give a very high credit in this and that world. Will it be better to live a little long and suffer never ending torments in hell or to die a little before and go to heaven, in both cases death was necessary.
