Your question reads. I'm 17 dating a 27yr old guy.
I emphasise dating.
Now you get a load of answers thinking you are having sex with him. Dating does not always involve sex has a lot of people think.

Its too young, you are possibly still in school or have just left where as he has been out working for at least 6 years. Its such a different way to live your life, it will probably be too hard to connect properly at some point. Also its possible that he may treat you badly because he is older and probably has more money than you. Its a big position of power. If the guy is decent then you shouldn't have to worry about this stuff, and only yo can know if you really are connecting but its just a bad situation to be in so if you have any doubts you should call it off since at the very least there will be a lot of people that judge you badly for being with a guy a decade older than you when you are so young.

That's a pretty big age gap. You're still a teenager and he's an adult so your lifestyles must be pretty different right now. If he's a good guy and you really care about each other then I'm sure there are ways to work around the age difference. Just be careful okay? There are guys out there who date younger girls because they feel they're easier to manipulate. If this guy starts to show any signs of disrespecting you or pressuring you in any way, shape, or form, you make sure you end things right away. Then concentrate on guys your own age. Dating someone older can be exciting but chances are you'd have more in common with someone closer to your own age. Go with your instincts, you'll know what's right for you. Best of luck!

I'd have to meet this guy first, but I'd say no. Once you reach about 25, then dating older men isn't such a big deal, because by then (hopefully) you have some life experience. But since you're so young, I'd say find someone closer to your age, because you will have more in common as far as life experience.
This being said, my brother is dating a girl about your age and he is 27. He is anything but a creep, but so many guys who date younger women turn out that way. If you continue in the relationship, PLEASE just watch your back! Many guys do this so they can control their GFs. At 17, you just don't have a lot under your belt, so to speak.

You're still a teenager. Date other teenagers. They will grow older with you and 10 years from now, you won't be suffering from the shock of that age gap. This 27 year old guy will be 37 years old in a short 10 years. You may still be feeling like a teenager yourself at 27 and find yourself rebelling against him as he suffers a mid-life crisis.

1.) Be careful older men tend to be very aware of young girls vulnerability and take advantage, you are so you don't make any serious moves
2.) Ask yourself about his motives sometimes older men will say anything and promise you the world thinking you are naive
3.) You are so young I don't want to sound like a mom but be careful I personally think he is too old you two are at different stages in your life and probably see your futures different ways.

age is just a number sweetie and as long as you two are happy i dont see a problem with it!!
its not illegal because your over 16 so ignore dumb people saying it is because he could only go to jail if you were 15 and under!!
good luck and i wish you every bit of happiness i know a couple with a ten year difference and they are still madly in love after 20 years!!!

it depends where you are,and whether youre sleeping with him. If youre in the UK and youre sleeping with him then thats fine but in some countries it could be illegal as youre not an adult yet. that said, if he makes you happy, go for it! I wish you the all the best, and if some people are negative about it screw them! if its true love then youve been lucky to find each other. i think its ok!

since ur are still young the difference is too big... if u were 20 or 21 and he's 30, 31 thats better.. but in my opinion the differnce is too big... just be careful
