I want to become an Income Tax agent. like to do the paper work for people to file their taxes. What will i need? this is for the state of California. If you want to be CA Tax Preparer, search for CA Tax Preparer and you will have a list of schools that provide required hours of training.

In California if you are not an attorney, enrolled agent or CPA, you must take a 60 hour course and pass a test run by the California Tax Education Council to get a license. After that you have to get 24 hours of continuing education every year.

You either want to be a CPA or work for an income tax prep company like Jackson Hewett or H&R Block. The comanies train their own employees so you'll need to go appyly.
