I want to become an Income Tax agent. like to do the paper work for people to file their taxes. What will i need? this is for the state of California. Please answers only if you know what you are going to answer. Please be specific. i need Step by Step information on what are all the requirements i need. All information will be truly appreciated.

If you want to be Enrolled Agent, go to

If you want to be CA Tax Preparer, search for CA Tax Preparer and you will have a list of schools that provide required hours of training.

In California if you are not an attorney, enrolled agent or CPA, you must take a 60 hour course and pass a test run by the California Tax Education Council to get a license. After that you have to get 24 hours of continuing education every year.

You either want to be a CPA or work for an income tax prep company like Jackson Hewett or H&R Block. The comanies train their own employees so you'll need to go appyly.
