Israel has a right to defend itself, where as militant Islam has no right, by the standards of the rest of the non-Islamic world, to be attacking others. The militants are bullies who need to be stamped out, permanently. Using their religious beliefs against them, such as what General Pershing, and at least one other British officer did is what should be done now. Round up a bunch of them, smear pig grease on them, and or wrap them up in pig skins, and shoot them. Parking a MERV thermonuclear unit in orbit with targeting for the capitals that encourage them, and support them, as well as their military bases, industrial facilities, and holy sites would also be a good idea. Back off and leave the world in peace, or else.
As far as Israel goes, leave Israel alone, and I am certain that Israel will leave everyone else alone as well. As for the Palestinian issue, which keeps coming up, that fi*th brought their situation upon themselves. All Israel did was confiscate the homes that they willingly left prior to the 1948 war at the advice of the Arab countries who were sure they could wipe out fledgling Israel, and give the captured lands the Jewish settlers owned to the Palestinians who were also living in the area. It didn't work out that way, and no one has the guts to tell the truth. They all lie and piss and moan about what Israel did, which all that Israel did was take land that it conquered fair and square in war. If the Arabs had left Israel alone, those people would still have their homes. If other countries can keep lands they conquered in war, why can't Israel?

Religions, any and all religions, have been used as pretexts for evil acts, though people may also claim that such harmful acts are sanctioned by God, and therefore not "evil". It's pretty slippery logic, yes? One must ask... is God to be blamed for what his followers do? Or is each person responsible for understanding the difference between good and evil, and therefore responsible for his own actions? I think that no religions, no prophets, no clergy, no "leaders" etc., give out the command, "Hey, let's do evil today!" They may mislead others that acts of hatred and revenge are somehow "good" or commendable deeds. They may advance the claim that they have a direct line to the will of God as a chosen spokesman. Are not people still responsible for evaluating the truth of such claims and considering whether a course of action is ennobling or corrupting? I think it is fair to critique religions on the basis of their factual teachings and the general customs or mores of that religious community, but at the same time remembering the difference betwwen individuals and groups. Under every "label" there are good people, criminals, and people just "ordinary" who copy the behavior of those around them. In considering fairly, is it not true that a person's deeds reveal more than their professions of belief. Hypocrites are common enough in all religions and among the non-religious as well. What I believe is that one's religion is revealed in his or her treatment of fellow human beings. Ethics is a "high ground" that does not belong to any one creed, nor does it exclude any.

I do not disagree. However, Islam has put the focus on itself by allowing the extreme element within the religion to overshadow the moderate whereas in Judaism, the extreme element is a much smaller percentage and is mostly found within the borders of Israel as opposed to Islam which seems to promote the expansion of it's fundamentalism globally.

ADL, AIPAC, AJC. There are your reasons in America. There is also a group known as CAMPUS that keeps pressure on media. They're now going after the Tel Avi newspaper Ha'aretz.

Though Zionism is political and not religious, many people confuse the two. The Zionists were the original car bombers. To the posters claiming innocence for Israel, ask the Brits how they felt being in that area after WW2- Menachim Begin disguised himself as a rabbi while leading terrorist groups against British soldiers and Arabs.

Israel as a nation has a great deal of blood on its hands.

Now, let's see all those thumbs down for historical facts.

Israel has been threatened with extinction since the day it was created. It was attacked on its highest holiday. It has on its borders, countries that fundamentally believe it should be driven into the sea and every Jew killed. When was the last time you saw video of three Jews sawing off the head of a Muslim while he's still alive. The stone cold fact is that if the palestinians wanted peace the Jews would give it to them in spades, if they laid down their arms they would be welcomed as neighbors, but if Israel did the same there wouldn't be a Jew left alive. And if you don't believe that you don't know your history and the facts very well.

You just want to bash Israel. It is a secular country with a secular government.

As far as religions go, Judaism seems much less harmful than Islam.

Yup...lots and lots of Jewish suicide bombers out there blowing up innocent children and women. Lots of them.

Huh? What? Hmm. The cat tells me that there hasn't been a SINGLE Jewish suicide bomber. How can this be?

The fact of the matter is that islam is nearly solely responsible for the terrorism in the world today. That, plus the fact that very, very, very few "other" muslims condemn terrorism (in other words, they actively or passively support it), how else would you expect people to react to islam? islam continues to show it's true nature...and people are becoming more and more aware of what it is.

UPDATE: Thanks to the two links concerning history of the Jewish struggle. But, NO thanks to the personal attacks and calling other people "ignorant" or whatever. So what if the cat was a bit distracted by other things instead of reading about Israel in the early days. The point REMAINS that terrorism is nearly "lock, stock and barrel" the arsenal of practitioners of islam extremists. ONE suicide bomber in the past ten or twenty years is hardly a trend, now is it? The fact is that "suicide bombers" are nothing more than cowardly murderers who target the innocent...in most cases children and women. Is that REALLY something that most muslims are proud of supporting (actively or passively)?

Why bash anyone? I cannot see a purpose in running down anyone that is interested in religion and spirituality. Bashing usually means you don't have anything worthy of being said and I take it that way when someone bashes me. It is useless to be hateful to any human being just for the sake of being hateful. We can disagree without being disagreeable, can't we?

First of all, it's not oka to bash either. Second of all, jews have been persecuted since before islam was even created. Third of all, are you implying that the state of Israel is a bad thing?

Probably because Jews arent the ones collapsing buildings killing thousands of people and bombing busses and cafes killing women and children thinking it is their God-given right and duty.

Look at Israel all you want. They are a sovereign country and have the right to defend themselves against terrorism. What would you do? Give up?
