I do. A mouse crawled across my keyboard and typed out Dec 21st 2012. What are the odds of that?

No beliefs, though I have studied the scientific relevance of the date, something that 99% of the people who write off the date have not done.
December 21, 2012 is the day that we will complete a very rare solar alignment, an alignment 26,000 years in the making to be exact, where our Earth will be directly aligned with the sun and the Milky Way Galaxy. This will create electro magnetic energy, and thus solar flares, like we have not seen in modern times.
Best case scenario we will only have minor power problems in a limited scope. Solar flares do not need an alignment to cause electrical problems, the last time this happened was in 1988, though again, this is nothing compared to the event that will happen in 2012. These possibilities are scientific fact, in addition to these, there are many theories about other things that might happen with the massive amount of energy flowing through our solar system, but again, speculation, though some is based on evidence, we have never seen this alignment occur, so we can not be sure.
The strange thing is is that modern scientists have just found out about this alignment in the last 100 years, but not only the Maya, but several other ancient cultures, were already keen of this date 1,500 years ago. How they figured out this information without the use of modern technology is quite puzzling, but I don't like to speculate. Not only this but the recent book, supposedly authored by Nostradamus, either way dating to around his lifetime, pinpoints the exact date, and this is without the use of the information of these ancient cultures. The most puzzling however, is the Ancient Chinese calender, dating back about as far back as anything we have in existence, around 5,000 years, which when broken down, also points to the exact date.
Those comparing this date to Y2k are clueless..

Not me.
It may exist in the future, but right now there is no such thing as Dec 21, 2012.

It is on our calendar, I thus believe in it.
It's the last day on the Mayan calendar, but maybe they just got tired of counting days and just stopped. LOL
Seriously, it could be, but I tend to beware of prophesy. Most of them are wrong. Also, the interpretation of the Mayans might be wrong. They just said it would be the end of time as they knew it. I think the Mayan age ended long before 2012...so maybe they are already dis-proved.
I was willing to believe that something might happen on Y2K as well. What a bummer that was. LOL

I presume there are many more on this site, who don't know what you are talking about. I presume it is a prophecy or something of that nature, but I am not interested because I live in the day, don't think of the past, and the future doesn't worry me.

Yay! Another Doomsday date!
... I was sooo disappointed in Y2K, when we did the countdown I shouted:
"3... 2... 1... ... ... dang it!"
********************
I just did a search about 12/12/12 on Google and on a site, there is a guy invinting humans to "board the trains and leave Earth"... Hello? Mass suicide, anyone?
