"The greatest difficulty in coming to a clear picture of Lincoln's faith is the fact that HIS RELIGION DOES NOT FIT INTO MODERN CATEGORIES. He was not an orthodox, evangelical, "born-again" Christian striving toward the "higher life" (as these terms have been used since the 1870s). But neither was he a skeptical "modernist" with a prejudice against the supernatural and an aversion to the Bible."

it says that on all of our money. who knows if abraham lincoln trusted in God? america was built because people wanted to be able to follow their religion without being persecuted. that's where the motto "in God we trust" came from.

No. He was an atheist. Man will write whatever on currency. It is of the world.

It was because of God that President Lincoln arose to that political position, though.

Lincoln was an atheist. Plus, the money did not say that in his day. In his day, the national motto was "E. Pluribus Unum"

Lincoln was one of our more religious leaders.
