Matthew 24:45-47 refers to all who are watching and waiting for Christ's return. In the next chapter, Jesus tells multiple parables about both being ready and being patient for His return. It is self-declaratory for Watchtower to name themselves as the object of the passage, when it is clearly generic

If there is any specific group who "watch over" others, it is the organization of Elders/bishops/overseers/pastors, as found in Titus 1 and I Timothy 3.
Consider:
Acts 20:28 Take heed unto yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit hath made you bishops, to feed the church of the Lord which he purchased with his own blood.

No, and if that's what they teach, that's not only spurious of them, it's also a bit self-righteous and grandiose, don't you think? What makes them so qualified and any better than anyone else? Isn't it rather the righteousness that Christ bought for us on the cross, rather than their own? I hope that they are placing their trust in Him, rather than what their Hell-bound Pelagianist doctrines say about this text; which I'm sure involves rather their good works and devotion as a Russellite. Take not my word for it my Russellite friends, but Christ's inscripturated Word. "For noone will be justified by the law in His sight..." (Romans 3:20), and "There's noone who is righteous, not even one." (Psalm 14; Psalm 53; Romans 3:10)
No, it's those who live in Christ and are saved through His righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21); not some sect! The faithful and discreet slave is those in the Lord who were also:1) Noah and his family in Matthew 24:37-39; 2) either the one man taken in the field or the one woman taken at the grinding mill in Matthew 24:40-41; 3) among the five wise virgins who took oil jars along with their lamps in Matthew 25:1-13; 4) either the servant with five talents or the one with two in Matthew 25:14-30; and 5) the sheep when the Shepherd comes to separate them from the goats, placing them on the right of Him and the goats on the left in Matthew 25:31-46.
Again, here's another example of the Russellites lifting and robbing a text from its contextual meaning. And what is that meaning? Verses 42 in Matthew 24 tells us that we won't know the day of the Son of Man - Jesus's return, so be ready with which He has required of you; that being following Him and His instructions (as I mentioned in the beginning), and Him alone! It is those who will be saved; not due to being a member of any religious group. If anyone is relying on a particular religious group to get them saved, whether it be the Presbyterians, Baptists, Roman Catholics, Methodists, Eastern Orthodox, the Mormons or the Russellites, they are in deep trouble, because they are relying on the work of man; not God! They will be among those who represent the wicked and undiscerning slave, for sure!

While it may refer to some/many Jehovah's Witnesses, I believe that the "faithful and wise servant" refers to all who love and serve God, and who wait for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. I believe that it is more than that, though. The "watchfulness" that we need to have is of a spiritual nature... we need to be constantly "listening" for the still small voice of the Holy Spirit, guiding us in the right way. Good people all over the world, of any faith, can listen to the inspiration of God in their hearts, telling them how to live prepared for the Second Coming. It will be well with them.... even if they don't know why it is they do what they do... so long as they follow that inner voice.

Cuchlain has it right when he said it refers to those who are watching and waiting for the LORD's return.
It can not refer to the Watchtower. According to "their" prophecy Jesus has already returned in 1914. Actually, they said He would return several times and the W.T. even build a mansion in 1925 in San Diego for Abraham Issac and Jacob but since they were "no shows" they sold it to avoid embarrassing questions about it.
Anyone can be a prophet if they could change their predictions after it did not happen to what did happen.
If ANY group tells you that you have to belong to THAT group to be saved..run from it.

I believe it does. But I would be very interested in reading the comments of those who do not believe so as to who then this verse applies to since it obviously applies to someone. There are also the "members of the household" so an explanation of more than just the "slave" would be in order.

I dont consider them the FD&S anymore. 20 years of their control and I realize their policies change. Hypocrisy abounds..... do you know they told me I could take "fractions" that have more blood in them than other "fractions" that dont? I was told not to have a transplant but others said it was okay.
No thanks, I'll serve God Himself.

No. I would not call their door to door antics "faithful and discreet".
