Is it true you guys get an extra allowance if your barracks dont have carpet? I always heard this story. Any truth to it. And yes iam talking about stateside people!!!

Nope, not quite like that. If your dorm is significantly below the Air Force standards, such as Air Force living on an Army Base, then you might be eligible for a supplementary allowance. It is based on square footage and basic conditions, not whether there is carpet.

Not true. some have carpet, some have hard floors. It all depends on the dorm funding.

but you don't get money for not having carpet.

YOU are worried about carpets in your "dorm"? unbelievable!
try living in a tent in the desert with wooden pallets and scrounged plywood as your floor!
