I recently got ps3. Does it play hd dvd along with blu ray disc? also how do i change the resolution to hd.

The Playstation 3 can play regular DVD's, Blu-Ray DVD's and other video formats such as mp4, and avi.
If you have a HDTV and have a HDMI connection and you want to change the resolution, go to settings, and then scroll down until you see Display Settings and then click on Display Settings.
While in Display Settings go to Video Output Settings and select the HDMI connection or the type of connection that you have with the PS3 and then press the "right" button on the d-pad and then go through the rest of the setup.

Well you need a tv with hd. Then go display settings in the systems set up and it will automatically do it when you click on the resolution you want. It does play blu ray and HD dvd's.

The PS3 only plays Blu-ray disks, not HD-DVD disks. To change your resolution, go to the crossbar menu and find the option to change your output settings.

HD-DVD isn't supported. Resolution can be changed in Video Setup under Settings.
