Some religions discourage or even forbid seeking to educate oneself about the beliefs of other religions. I was shocked on one of your former questions that a Muslim questioned why you were reading the Quran, and admitted that she had never read it herself, she was a convert who just did what some man told her to do, apparently.
Quran:
Sura 5:86 "Muslims that make friends with disbelievers will face a doom prepared for them by Allah."
Sura 7:166 "Allah turns Jews into apes." [Evolutionists and Creationists have fun with that one!]
Sura 9:107 "Stay away from non-Muslims. They are all liars."
Easy enough to see where this is headed. Where are these peaceful Muslims that would stand up and begin to enter into dialogue with all others? Where is the Muslim that has turned in a cell group? In many of the Mosques memorization of the Quran is taught, not reading. The ability to read is power to overcome ignorance. I say "Come, let us reason with one another." We may not change our faith, but we can attempt to have a peaceful co-existance.
I read enough of the test you quoted to say it was not taken out of context, which is why I added several to support the text. Gaz, sorry that you got stuck being the Preacher! What irony, heh?

Salam
Those of the books are protected by the books and the lines where made lone ago. To further clairfy what you posted.
Context of Revelation : The following verses were revealed when an outwardly believing but inwardly still a hypocritical associate of the Prophet told him that he had many friends among the Jews and the Christians whom he dared not forsake in case he needed their help when the chips are down!
5:51
those of you who believe! Take not the Jews or the Christians as your friends, for they are friends of each other. And whoever among you takes them for friends will be deemed one with them. Verily Allah guides not the iniquitous.
5:52
And you will see those in whose hearts is a disease run towards them saying : 'We have a premonition that something awful is about to befall us!' It may well be that Allah will bless you with a victory over them, or send a revelation which is favourable to you, so that they regret over what they have kept hidden inside their hearts.
A time that has passed Muhammed SAW showed a timeline for the Quran and how it is to be used as it was sent in a 23 year period. That is where misquoting can hurt things today.

Close bibles. War is one of God's punishments.
God saw hostility, crimes, life without love between Muslim and Muslim, between Muslim and Israel, and deep division s in Western society to a worst level, so God must send the external threats which are to adjust for the unity of Muslim society itself and the love between Muslim and neighbor Israel, and the restoration among Western society.
So whenever Muslim makes peace with Muslim, and both Israel and Muslim follow the second commandment, and the same thing happens here, then not only war cant exist but friends are forever.

This is true but not accurate. What was meant in the Quran is that if there is a kaffir who tries to pull me to make a sin, then I shouldn't be friends with him/her. For example, if you come to me and tell ok Mimi, lets go drink some alcohol there is nothing wrong with it and you try to convince me to do a sin then I can't be friends with you. However, if I get a good non muslim friend who won't teach me to sin then why not become friends?
I have Christian friends, Atheists, Hindus, and Muslim friends. Non of them ever tried to teach me to sin and I really enjoy friendship with them. I am also looking for a Jewish friend now.
Peace

“Friends” here means political allies. Otherwise verse 5.82 will not make sense. “Certainly you will find the most violent of people in enmity for those who believe (to be) the Jews and those who are polytheists, and you will certainly find the nearest in friendship to those who believe (to be) those who say: We are Christians; this is because there are priests and monks among them and because they do not behave proudly.”
That was a generalization which throughout history has proved itself to be quite true, even in our own times.

yes they should
but consider this........I posted a question on November 2 asking if any muslims were willing to say that the 9/11 bombings were the devils work instead of people doing the will of God and the only answer I got was from a muslim blaming it all on America, not a single on was willing to say that 9/11 was not a good thing !!!
It is a 100% terrorist supporting religion just like we all have been saying.

You "think?" You should be sure. Wars started over miscommunication . I learned in my Religious Studies course that Mohammed taught his followers to be repectful of Jews and Christians--espescially Jews--as Judaism is the basis for these religions. I was very surprised by this, but my professor (a Muslim) pointed this fact out to us.

You can, but the media is making you focus on the tiny number of muslims that do not lead peaceful lives. You just need to learn more about muslims - you'll be enlightened.

I am not a Muslim, but we should all get along. If we destroy each other and our planet...no one gains. God in any religion doesn't want that for God is love.
