Once you are legally married your spouse will have full dependent rights. Housing, medical care, etc...

I'm assuming that you mean in on base housing? From what I know (I am not in the military, but was engaged to a Marine back in the day) is that there is a waiting list for on base housing that you are not eligible to even be on until you are married and can prove it. Some places have really short lists and others have really long ones, so I suppose it will depend on where you are stationed and what the housing market is there.

Even once you are married, I would think that your best bet would be to get a place off base. No sense in relying on something that you might or might not get eventually.

Good Luck to you both.

The USAF rule on Girlfriends is that they must be female humans.

Of course you can live together after you are married. Base housing may or may not be available.

Probably, unless you are deployed to a forward location.
She won't be able to stay with you while you are in basic training, but if you get a move on, you should be through with all your schools and know where you will be PCSing before the wedding. As soon as you know where you will be, check with base housing to see what your options are, but in many cases you may end up living off base and just getting a housing allowance.

Good luck to you!

She can live with you whenever you want her to but whether or not the military pays you for it is a different story. As your girlfriend, she is not considered your dependent. Once youre married she is a dependent and you are entitled to a housing allowance.

No. If they want you to have a wife they will issue you one.

Wait...that's the Army.

Just kidding, you can marry and she can live with you as long as you are stationed somewhere that dependents can go.

Probably not. You will be living in the govt provided dorms. They are intended for you & you only. All hell can/will break loose if your 1st Sgt finds out you are allowing your g/f to stay w/ you.

Now, with that said, you can "ghost." That means that you set up an unofficial residence off base, but you will have to pay the rent out of your own pocket. You would not get BAH until you all marry.

Of course! AF people are people, too. We go home at night and make dinner, etc. On a serious note, yes you will be able to live together...when you are at your home base...as SF you will deploy more than average and you will not be able to take her with you then but you're not going to want to, either.

yes of course whomever you marry will be able to live with you, provided that they are a U.S. resident or citizen, and that you are not deployed on a mission or tour that does not allow family to accompany you.
