What is faith?

For those of you who want to know what faith is, It can be summed up like this:

(F)orsaking
(A)ll
(I)
(T)ake
(H)im

Giving up EVERYTHING for Christ & Him alone, & taking Him as Lord & Savior into your heart.

That is what faith is!

Any thoughts?

Phil: there are holes in your logic! We have faith that we will have a job tomorrow, faith that our car will run, faith that we will have food to eat, & faith we will have money to pay our bills. Faith is NOT an exclusive property of just Christianity!

Very Good. Then you obviously know what it means to determine within you that it is His will and not yours that must guide you hopefully and through the faith you have so well considered and rendered unto Him to take you through the dark tunnel of life. Good Choice. Smart. I know of no better and in times of darkness and doubt there is always that within us that holds fast to the Rock that for some is the Cornerstone and others the stumbling-block.

I like it but I prefer the Bible definition.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

faith is the belief that you have any idea what is actually happening and the belief that things will work the same way tomorrow that they did today...
honestly just never thinking that tomorrow the earth will start spinning the other direction throwing us all off into space is faith...

Faith is just a pretty word that means irrational belief.

Nobody speaks of having faith that the earth is round, or that 2 plus 2 is 4. People only speak of faith when they wish to substitute wishful thinking for evidence.

"Faith means believing what you know aint so." -Mark Twain

faith is an intangible, you can't feel, touch or smell it, discerned by the Lord God Almighty. when He walked the earth among humanity, He performed many a healing for those who gravitated to Him. with every healing He uttered "by your faith you are healed"
also, there was a woman chasing after Him in dire need of healing. she had resigned herself to the idea "if i can but touch His garment i will be healed". she succeeded. instantly Jesus stopped and asked "who touched me?". those around him declared "are you mad, we are all so close, we all have touched you!". to which He responded that He had felt her faith. when she came forward, He again iterated "by your faith you are healed."

there are many ,in the Christian church, who falsely profess to have the faith necessary to be a Christian. we have only to believe them, but God knows their secret.

As I understand it, He took ME! The faulty human that I am, He DIED for me and took MY sins upon His perfect body. (1 Cor 2:1-3...I know nothing but Jesus Christ was crucified).
What a wonderful joy that is!

Also a belief, a trust, a confidence, strict adherence to duty and promises in God and Jesus Christ.
