i have a license. my uncle has a car that has insurance, so in order for me to drive it do i need to have insurance or be under the insurance? i dont live with him.

yes as long as he gives you permission. insurance follows the auto not the driver. if you drive his car often or live in his home, he should add you to the policy though.

You can drive it only if his policy states that he is covered for others to drive it.. In Canada you can have a policy that only cover other drivers if they are older than 25. That way the insurance is cheaper.. it is more expensive to have someone younger than 25 drive your vehicle..Make sure you check with your uncle cause if something happens and he's not covered. He can charge you with theft in order to recover the damages

I'm sure it's different with each state, so be sure to double check.... but in Florida for example, you would be able to drive your uncle's car without being added to the policy as long as its not a habitual thing.... if you drive it with any type of frequency they would require it.......

IT IS DIFFERENT FROM STATE TO STATE BUT MOST OF THE TIME YOU WOULD HAVE TO BE A NAMED DRIVER ON HIS POLICY AND YOU WOULD HAVE TO LIVE AT THAT RESIDENCE.
